From: Ncnc123 <ncnc123@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] Catching a Pokemon Date: Wednesday, July 28, 1999 12:35 PM Splash left Cerulean City heading for Saffron. He knew that if he wanted to defeat any gym leaders, he would have to capture more pokemon. All he had was a Tentacool, which could only do so much out of water. He decided to capture another pokemon. 'I'll capture the first wild Pokemon I see,' Splash thought. He headed down the path to some bushes on the side of the road. 'There should be some Pokemon here.' The first pokemon Splash saw got away from him before he could call out his pokemon. It had been a Pidgey, and it flew away the second Splash looked at it. "That won't happen again," Splash said, "Go Tentacool!" The Tentacool bounded out of the pokeball and sat on the ground. "Tentacool," Tentacool said. Splash picked up Tentacool and started looking for another pokemon. He saw a Mankey sleeping under a nearby tree, and decided to capture it. "Tentacool, wrap attack!" Splash cried. Tentacool extended its tentacles around the Mankey and started squeezing it. The Mankey woke up and struggled to get away. Splash knew that it might get away, so he threw a pokeball at it. The Mankey got sucked into the pokeball, and it lay on the ground, shaking. After a few seconds, the pokeball stopped shaking and Splash ran over and picked it up. He had caught a Mankey. "Maybe I should give you a nickname," Splash said. He threw out the pokeball and Mankey came out. "Mankey!" Mankey said. "I'm going to give you a nickname," Splash said. "It will be... Uh... Monkey." "Mankey!" Monkey said, glaring at its new trainer. "Tentacool!" Tentacool said. "Huh?" Splash said. "Do you want a nickname too?" "Tentacool." "Is that a yes?" "Tentacool." "Okay then, your name is Tenta." "Tentacool," Tenta said. "Monkey, Tenta return," Splash said. The two pokemon returned to their pokeballs and Splash continued on his way.
