Use Water Gun!" Caterpie was blasted against a tree. It was scarred with a deep red mark on top of its head. "Alright! Now Poke Ball go!" Caterpie was caught, but Rose started to worry. "That poor Caterpie........we should take it to the Pokemon Center!" she said. Storm nodded. As Storm and Rose's pokeon got treated by Nurse Joy, a Chansey took the Caterpie into the ER. "I hope it it'll be OK......" said Storm. Just then Nurse Joy came out of the ER. "Caterpie's fine" she stated. "But that scar will have some effect on its evolution. It will evolve at one half of the normal rate, but when it does, it will be more powerful. As a Metapod, it might be so hard it could cut through diamonds." Storm was shocked at this. It would take longer for Caterpie to evolve into the pokemon he cuaght it for, Butterfree. Regardless of this, Storm and Rose set off for the Diglett's Cave. As soon as they set foot inside the cave, Storm heard a loud rumble. "Must be the Digletts." he said optimistically. But then rocks started to tumble. The entrance to the Diglett's Cave was blocked! Storm and Rose had nowhere to go but forward. But the way was blocked by a progressing wall of Diglett's! If Storm and Rose didn't act fast they would eb crushed! "Go Bellsprout!" shouted Rose "Go Psyduck!" yelled Storm. "Psyduck! Water Gun to weaken the defenses!" "Now Bellsprout, whip them out of the way!" Bellsprout created a hole in the Diglett wall, but it was high, too high for the two. "Now Pidgeotto, go!" said Storm. "Fly us through the hole!" Storm and Rose landed safely on the other side. Then Rose spoted a stray Diglett. "Go Oddish!" shouted Rose! "Absorb power from the Diglett! Diglett was hurt, but it quickly dug underground. Oddish was confused to where Diglett went. The in came out right under Oddish. Oddish was frightened and let out some sleep powder! Everyone fell asleep, including the Diglett, Rose, Storm, and even Oddish. About 5 hours later, everyone woke up, except the Diglett. Rose whispered softly, "Pokeball go!" Diglett was caught without a struggle. Just then, another trainer came up to the two. "Hey, wanna battle?" he siad courageously. "There's nothing to do here but fight, the entrance from Vermilion caved in as soon as I walked in." "That means......" Storm said frightened. "We're trapped." Rose finished. "What do you mean?" inquired the trainer. "The entrance from Viridian caved in too." replied Storm. "Dang. Oh well, there's nothing we can do but battle." said the trainer. "OK!" said Storm. "I choose Caterpie!" Caterpie crawled out of its pokeball. "Hah hah!" laughed the trainer. "You're going to fight me with that little thing? You're going to fight a real pokemon this time! I choose Nidorino!" "NIDO!" "Caterpie! String Shot!" Nidorino was wrapped up in string, but easily shook it off. "Nidorino! Use Double Kick!" Caterpie was slapped against Storm, but wasn't fainted. "Caterpie! Hang in there! Tackle!" "Hah hah. Nidorino, Horn Attack!" Nidorino charged at Caterpie but the horn attack missed! Caterpie took a few paces back and charged at Nidorino, dealing a crushing blow! Just like Nurse Joy said, this Caterpie was more powerful than usual! "Nidorino! Hang in there! Double Kick!" "Caterpie, Tackle again!" Caterpie ducked under Nidorino's kick, and charged with a tackle, knocking it back. The Nidorino was fainted. "What.....why.......how did this happen! Nidorino couldn't lose to this little bug!" Just then Rose's Nidoran popped out of its ball, sensing something! The Nidoran ran over to one of the trainer's Poke Balls. He knocked it out of his belt. Out popped a Female Nidoran! Rose's Nidoran fell in love instantly. It did its mating dance for the female. The female responded with the same dance! "Nidoran! Return!" shouted Rose. Nidoran dodged the beam of light. "That Nidoran is desperatly in love. They can't be seperated." said the trainer. "Hmmmm....if they can't be seperated, I guess you can keep it. Here's its Poke Ball." Rose handed the Nidoran and the Poke Ball to the trainer, who then walked off. Storm then pointed Rose's Pokedex at Caterpie. "Level anylaasis: This Caterpie is level 11. Because it will evolve at 1/2 the normal rate, it will not become a Metapod until level 14, and then it will become Butterfree at level 20." Storm then had a flashback. "When this Caterpie evolved into Metapod, it might be able to cut through diamonds!" said Nurse Joy. "I got it!" said Storm "Got what?" replied Rose. "If Caterpie evolves, it might be able to hack through the rocks!" "Well we have to keep training it!" TBC!
