As Robert and Rilli walked further into the city, the noise level increased even
more (if that were possible). The streets are packed with stages, booths,
stands, not to mention people, people, and more people. Everywhere they looked,
there were long-haired people wearing tie-dyed shirts, flowers, peace signs, or
a combination of the three. "Wow, this doesn't look like Celadon City at all,"
Rilli commented as they carefully walked past a mosh pit that was, for some
reason, in the middle of the open street. A man ran by, scattering flowers in
the air. Robert caught one and wove it into Rilli's hair while she protested,
giggling, that it would never stay in.
"Did you see that?" Robert suddenly blinked as they passed another band on its
way to set up for their act.
"See what?" Rilli turned to look, but the dense crowd already blocked any view.
Robert shrugged and kept walking. Perhaps the psychedelic effects of the event
is getting to him. It's certainly not everyday that one comes across a Chansey
carrying a violin, followed by a flute-playing Jigglypuff. And for some reason,
they seemed vaguely familiar... ah well.
Meanwhile, Rilli was kept fascinated by the souvenir stands on the sidewalks.
Most of them sold t-shirts or tacky jewelry that she wouldn't even consider
wearing, but some booths had cute pokémon beanies or decorative keychains that
captured her attention. Sure, she didn't have any keys to use those keychains
for, but they were pretty nonetheless. Still, she kept her purse tight, knowing
that they need to be careful with money on this journey. Speaking of... she
silently admonished herself for not asking her mom for a little boost in the
funds while at home. Ah well.
A loud screech from microphone feedback got their attention, as well as
everybody else's in the vicinity with a wince. Another band was getting ready
to perform on one of the many stages set up in the city streets.
