When they walked out, they found the media sleeping on the floor. "What idiots!" stated Storm, as they set off for Saffron. Rose then spoke up as they were about to leave. "Storm." she said. "I want to fight Lt. Surge for his badge. It's been my dream to become a pokemon master. Beating Lt. Surge would help me complete that dream." Storm nodded. "OK, I guess I could try too." said Storm. Bellsprout made quick work of the bushes in front of the gym, as they walked into the gym. "So which one of you is first?" asked Lt. Surge. "I'll go first." said Rose. "You? A puny little girl challenges me?" laughed Lt. Surge. "Oh well. Your funeral. 3 on 3. Go Voltorb!" Rose growled. "Go Diglett!" she yelled. "Dig!" "Voltorb! Sonic boom!" A sonic burst rippled through the arena, but Rose's Diglett was quick enough to dig underground. Diglett came up, and hit Voltorb with a crushing blow. Voltorb started to fill with even more energy. "It's about to explode!" shouted Rose. "Hit the dirt!" Both Rose and Lt. Surge jumped to the ground, but Storm stayed up. "It's not exploding! It's evolving!" he stated. "TRODE!" "Alright! Volt......er......Electrode! Swift!" "Diglett, Dig!" Electrode got in the first attack this time, and Diglett fainted. "Augh! Return! Go Oddish!" "Electrode, return! Go Magnemite!" "Oddish, Absorb!" "Magnemite, Thundershock!" Magnemite was sucked of its power, while Oddish became stronger. The Thundershock didn't hurt Oddish much. "Hah hah! Oddish, Absorb again!" Oddish was quick off the draw, and sucked away Magnemite's last bit of power. "Return! You beat the first two, but you won't survive........" "RAIIIIIIIICHU!" "Oddish! Sleep Powder!" "Raichu, Thunderbolt!" The Thunderbolt had such a great force, it carried the sleep powder back, as Oddish fell asleep. "No! Return! Go Bellsprout!" "Raichu, Mega Kick!" "Bellsprout, Sleep Powder!" Raichu had no defense against the sleep powder, and fell asleep. "Bellsprout! Vine Whip!" Raichu was whipped hard, but awoke from the force of Bellsprout's vine. "Raichu! Come back with a Thunderbolt!" Bellsprout's fragile body was hurt.......it started to glow differnt colors! "Bellsprout! I mean......" "Weepinbell!" shouted the new Weepinbell. "Huh?" questioned Lt. Surge. "No matter! Raichu! Thundershock!" "Weepinbell, Razor Leaf!" The thundershock electrically charged Weepinbell's leaves, and hurt Raichu even more! "Weepinbell! Finish with Slam!" Raichu fainted easily. "OK, you win!" said Lt. Surge. "I underestimated you. Here's a TM for Thunderbolt and a Thunderbagde." Lt Surge walked off to his private healer, and prepared to fight Storm. Storm had almost no chance of winning, but he was going to try anyways. Lt. Surge came back into the arena. "OK, 3 on 3. Go Magnemite!" "Go Vaporeon!" "Magnemite! Thundershock!" "Vaporeon! Quick Attack!" Vaporeon ws quick off the draw and hit Magnemite, who responded with a burst of electricity. Vaporeon sped up and dodged the bolt, however. "Vaporeon! Mist!" "Magnemite! Sonicboom!" The mist Vaporeon made was nothing to the sonicboom. The huge soundwaves tore through the arena. Vaporeon was almost fainted. "Vaporeon! Bubblebeam!" "Magnemite! Swift!" Vaporeon's Bubblebeam was released first, as it slowly crept towards Magnemite. Magnemite hit it hard with Swift, fainting the Vaporeon. However, when the Bubblebeam connected, Magnemite fainted. "Return Vaporeon! Go Pidgeotto!" "Return Magnemite! Go Electrode!" "Pidgeotto! Whirlwind!" The whirlwind blasted Electrode into a wall. However, Electrode was full of energy after that, and exploded, fainting Pidgeotto. "Return Pidgeotto! Go Psy......I mean Metapod!" "Return Electrode! Go Raichu!" "Metapod! Tackle!" "Raichu! Body Slam now!" Raichu was quick off the draw, and almost crushed the fragile Metapod. However, the Metapod was special, and the tackle almost fainted Raichu! "Metapod! Another Tackle!" "Raichu! Thunderbolt!" Metapod flew through the air, but was easily fainted by the powerful Thunderbolt. "Well, that's that." said Lt. Surge, as Storm walked out of the gym, dissapointed. Storm and Rose went back to the pokemon center, to set off for Saffron in the morning.
