"Go, Pidge!" The inquisitive Pidgeot popped out. "Ot pidgeot?" Serayna climbed onto Pidge's back then helped Vicky up onto his back. "Hold on," she warned Vicky, then cried, "Take us to Pewter City, Pidge!" Pidge flapped his powerful wings and was going at top speed in a matter of seconds. About 5 minutes later, Pidge arrived at Viridian Forest's entrance. He had to land because his wings were not yet strong enough to take him high enough to get over the trees. Serayna stroked his soft feathers and recalled him. When she set foot on the dried leaves a Pikachu popped out of the bushes. "Pika! Pikachu!" it cried, climbing up onto Serayna's shoulder. Serayna smiled and tried to remove the Pikachu from her shoulder, but it would not budge. Serayna asked it "Would you like to come with me?" It replied "Pika pika!" and curled up on her head. Vicky grinned and gently petted the Pikachu, which yawned. Serayna took the Pikachu off her head and cradled it in her arms, where it fell asleep. However, Serayna, Vicky and the new Pikachu, Pikoo, had no idea they were being watched… Serayna could tell they would never make it to Pewter City before nightfall so she spread her sleeping bag out in the shelter of some bushes. Vicky complained bitterly about sleeping under a bush but she eventually went to sleep. Serayna soon fell asleep also. Meanwhile, someone-or rather something-poked its head into the bush. It saw the 2 girls and Pikoo, then quickly flew to its tree branch. "Zapdos," it muttered to itself. "Dos zapdos zap." It was thinking about how it would like to destroy that Pikachu but couldn't, because it was too young and had not learned Drill Peck yet. The day it learned that…It swooped off to a nearby ice cave. Serayna opened her eyes and stretched. Bright sunlight was streaming through the trees, so she woke Vicky and Pikoo. They gathered up their things and set off for Pewter City. Meanwhile, in the ice cave..... Zapdos screeched "Dos! Zap zap zapdos!" at the top of its lungs, but Articuno was unfazed by Zapdos' comments. It slowly moved its head and replied, "Cuno. Articuno cuno." Suddenly, a blast of heat came in through the cave entrance.... "Aha!" yelled Vicky, spotting the end of the forest. "There's the path to Pewter!" Serayna, Vicky and Pikoo all ran through the last of the trees and soon arrived in Pewter City. Vicky went to go have something to eat, while Serayna went to battle Brock. Serayna pushed open the heavy gym door, amd the smell of wet rocks hit her nose. Wrinkling her nose, she continued to the back of the gym, where Brock was sitting and drinking some tea. When he saw her, he put his teacup down and grumbled, "What do you want?" Back in the ice cave..... A loud squawk reverbated through the cave. "MOLTRES!" Moltres swooped in and began to scream at Zapdos. "Tres! Mol mol moltres mol tres mol!" Zapdos simply let out a little thundershock and stopped Moltres' screaming. "Zap, dos zapdos," it replied..... "I've come for a Boulder Badge," said Serayna confidently. Brock muttered something under his breath and stood up. "2 on 2, no items. Better heal up your Pokémon now, if you need to." Serayna grinned and pulled a Pokéball out of her backpack, then followed Brock to the arena. "Geodude, GO!" yelled Brock, throwing his Pokéball. Geodude popped out, saying "Dude." "Ok then..." thought Serayna and threw her Pokéball. "Foxy, GO!" Her Ninetales appeared, ready for battle. "Geodude, tackle!" Brock's yell sent Geodude into action. It zoomed straight at Foxy, who leaped out of the way. "Foxy, fire spin!" Foxy wrapped Geodude in a fire spin, and when the flames cleared, Geodude had nearly fainted. Brock muttered something then cried, "Geodude, rock throw!" Geodude grabbed a huge rock and heaved it at Foxy. It was a hit, but Foxy was still going strong. "OK Foxy," shouted Serayna. "Use your flamethrower!" Foxy used its flamethrower attack and fainted Geodude. "Geodude, return!" Brock held out the Pokéball and Geodude zapped back into the Pokéball. "It won't be so easy this time," he said, throwing his second Pokéball. "Vulpix, GO!" "A Vulpix?!?" exclaimed Serayna incredulously. "Well then....Foxy, tackle!" Foxy tackled the Vulpix, throwing it across the room. "Hmm...I know! Vulpix, fire blast!" Vulpix fire blasted the weak Foxy, who fainted. "Foxy, return!" yelled Serayna, recalling Foxy to the Pokéball. Putting Foxy's Pokéball away, she pulled out another Pokéball and threw it. "Go, Portal!" "Abbrrraaaaaa....." Portal replied, ready to battle. Brock grinned evilly and shouted, "Vulpix, fire spin!" Vulpix wrapped Portal in a fire spin, but it didn't really affect the Abra.....Serayna cried "Portal, Psychic!" Portal began broadcasting psychic waves at the Vulpix, confusing it and causing it to faint. "Vulpix, return," muttered Brock, recalling his Vulpix. He tossed the Boulder Badge to Serayna and headed back to the table to relax and finish his tea.
