Subject: [PW!] Trial at the Pokemon Courthouse Vl Date: 04 Jul 1999 01:42:13 GMT From: dryad48@aol.com (Dryad48) Organization: AOL http://www.aol.com Newsgroups: alt.games.nintendo.pokemon [This is it, the climax and maybe, the conclusion] [But, you readers don't really care, do you?] -----Last time----- As Magikarp finished his closing arguement, it seemed by the expressions of the jury that they had already made up their minds. And they had a disgusted look towards Magikarp. "My career is ruined," he said to himself. "A short career though." "Members of the jury, you may leave and come up with a verdict for this case. And don't be long." "They won't be..." Hypno smiled wryly. ------------------------ The jury walked out the door, and about a minute later, they came back in. "Will the defendant, or should I say defendants, please rise." Raichu, from the jury, had the paper with the verdict on it. He raised the paper and opened his mouth to read what it said. -----Somewhere else in the contiguous vicinity----- "Hurry up! We don't have much time! When I left the room, they were presenting their closing arguement!" Kathy explained. She, Machop, and the person he was talking to, were dashing towards the courtroom. At the same time, they had to take many detours from those annoying reporters, especially Mike. -----Back in the courtroom----- "Hahahahahaha!" Many people were laughing at poor Raichu, for he didn't know how to read. "I don't get it," Judge Osseous said. "Why did the jury select the reader to be someone who can't read?" Burtsing in tears, Raichu plotted the paper on the ground and hid among the rest of the jury. "Ok, we need someone to READ it." Gengar stood up. "I'm smarter by far than the rest of you dupes!" She picked up the paper, but it slipped through his gasseous hands. He attempted again, and again, but the paper persisted on staying put. "What kind of paper is this!?" "Hmmm, we need a jury member who can read, and can actually pick up the paper!" Judge Osseous demanded. Charmeleon took the paper from the ground and started reading. "We, the jury, hereby ...." he noticed Farfetch'd eyes widened and was pointing to the paper. Charmeleon looked back to the paper and saw that it was catching fire because of the tail. "PUT IT OUT! PUT IT OUT!" Wartortle got up and sprayed the paper. As the water hit the paper and Charmeleon, he screamed girlishly and ran to the other side of the room. "This is getting old, I hope we don't have anymore delays." He sighed. "So, who's going to read the paper?" Mr. Mime got up. "Yeah, right........next." "But you didn't give him a chance.." "HE'S A MIME DAMNIT! MIMES DON'T TALK!" -----Back somewhere in the building----- "Please! Just a few questions!" The reporters were catching up fast. "That does it!" Kathy stopped. "You two go, I'll handle things here." She took out her pokemon, Raichu and Parasect. "Stop them!" "Parasssect!" It shot out it's strongest spores towards the crowd, but THAT didn't stop them. Raichu jumped in front and let out a strong electrical charge, which didn't affect them either. "They're still heading this way!" Kathy got trampled, but at least she gave time for Machop to escape. -----Back in the courtroom, again----- Tangela got up and picked up the paper. "You can read?" She nodded. Picking up the paper with her vines, she began reading finally. "Mfmghgg mdsmf mgggre mrmm mfh sjhigcnv." "Say what? I can't understand a word coming out of your vine covered mouth." "Mfmghgg mdsmf mgggre mrmm mfh sjhigcnv." "That does it, I should have someone else read it out. Officer Penny? He looked to her and she was snoring away. "Sigh." He got up and went off his seat. Everyone else rose too. "Sit down!" Like frightened puppies, they obeyed. He snatched the paper away from Tangela. "Ok, here goes. We the jury, find the defendants, Muk, Weezing, AND Mr. Karp gu..." BAM! The door burst open. "What's the meaning of this?" "Sir," Machop anounced, "don't speak the verdict yet, because I have ONE more witness." Judge Osseous rolled his eyes and held his head in frustration. "Very well," he said with a "this better be good" look. Machop smiled. "In order to win this trial, Hypno, the prosecutor, used blackmail as a tool. Well Mr. Hypno, you have your ways.... and I have mine." "He's just buying time your honor." "Get to the point, Machop, and it BETTER be a good point." Machop proceeded. "Mr. Hypno, you understand that the pokemon police, headed by this courthouse, had arrested the pokemon gangs correct?" "Yeah.." Out of the door, peeped a boy's head and Machop motioned him in his direction. "This boy here, took those pictures you used." "What's your name son?" Osseous asked. "Uh... Todd." "Anyway, Todd has more pictures of what happened that day." Machop took out Todd's other pictures and showed them to the judge, jury, and other lawyers of the room. "As you can see, in these pictures, the pokemon being arrested have been abused by anonymous police officers." "What's your point?" "My point is that THIS is against the law!" "Hmmm," Dern thought back at what happened at the time. He remembered that Derrick was complaining that the pokemon were being mistreated, slammed into very small cages, oversprayed with air fresheners so the van wouldn't stink up. "I just might file a lawsuit against the Pokemon Courthouse." Machop smiled. Hypno frowned. "I'm not afraid of your childish antics!" "Well, you better be! I won't file this lawsuit if you do one thing, drop the charges from Mr. Karp, Weezing, and Muk." "Treachery!" "Think about it for a minute," Machop added. "Lawsuit goes on against Pokemon Courthouse. It wins, which I'm sure it will. Pokemon Courthouse becomes unpopular. Less bussiness. No profits. When the Pokemon Court goes out of bussiness, Mr. Hypno, so will you and every other pokemon lawyer that works here. Which means that Judge Osseous, and Judge Clawdaddy will have to revert back to being owned by trainers." "Judge Osseous, do something about this!" "I'm sorry, but Machop has every right. I must witness this upcoming spectacle from my point in this chair. Unless, you agree to Machop's demands, after all, you are the prosecutor of this trial." All the pokemon workers, including Judge Osseous, glared at him. "Very well, we'll discuss this over tonight." "This meeting is over!" Judge Osseous banged his bone on the wood. "We shall return at the same time tomorrow." Dern and Mr. Karp were the last two to leave. Machop was already in another room with Hypno. Kathy walked up to them huffing and puffing. "Did I miss anything?" "You missed everything!" -----The next morning----- "Kathy!" Dern knocked on the motel door. "We'll be late! Today, we find out what happens to Muk, and not to mention, Mr. Karp!" "Hold on and shutap! I'm trying to watch the news." She felt so humiliated being on the news. The reporters continuously followed her and made her look like a psychopath, with her screaming and such. All she could think was, "I'd kill him if he weren't already dead!" Kathy turned off the T.V. and they left to the Pokemon Courthouse. "I forgot to ask you last night, Kathy, where did you go? I thought you only went to the bathroom." "You'd understand if you watch PokeTV. Sigh, another lovely Celadon morning wasted in a stinky courtroom." -----In the Pokemon Courthouse----- The jury walked in as the audience whispered to each other. "We have here," Clefairy stated, "the compromise decided by Hypno and Machop." Clefairy was just about to begin reading, when Judge Osseous took the paper from him. "Hey." "We don't want this whole situation to start all over, now do we?" Osseous put on his reading glasses. "But I can read!" the judge sighed and gave it back. "We, Mr. Hypno and Machop have compromised the following. About the Pokemon Courthouse complications: All charges made against the Pokemon Courthouse will be dropped." "YES!!!!" Judge Osseous stage whispered to himself. "About the accussations made against Mr. Karp: all charges will be dropped and Mr. Karp will gain a pokemon lawyer's liscense as soon as possible given a full time job in this courthouse." "YES!!!!" Mr. Karp stage whispered to himself. "And finally, about the Grimmer Gang/ Koffing Krew." "This is it..." Dern felt like pissing in his pants at the moment. His heart was pounding more than ever. "Whoops!" Clefairy dropped the paper and it swiftly moved throughout the courthouse, getting stuck in an air vent. "Don't worry, I'll get it," Officer Penny announced. The suspense was killing him and he had to wait an extra ten minutes. When Officer Penny got back, he was relieved. His shirt was already moist from the sweat. Clefairy got back the paper and read on. "The gangs will spend six months in prison. As for Muk and Weezing, they will be put on probation. The owners must pay a $1,000 fine, and they and their pokemon will do 200 hours of community service." "Don't worry," Mr. Karp said to Dern. "Those were small sentences compared to what you were up to getting, up to ten years in prison." "There you have it!" Judge Osseous said. "Now get out!" Machop and Hypno shook hands, then headed to Dern, Kathy, Fern, and Mr. Karp. "How on earth did you accomplish this?" Mr. Karp asked. "Well, I remembered what you said about fighting back with weapons of their kind. remember that phone call I made? That's when I knew we would win the trial. I called Todd up, after all, I have connections." "Why don't we celebrate this event?" Kathy asked. "Care to join us Fern, Machop, Mr. Karp?" They nodded. "Then let's go to an expensive restraunt, on me." "I thought you were stingy with your money. What's gotten over with you?" Dern questioned. "But, who cares, let's go! I already got us hooked up on that new show of Mike's, you know Mike?" "Yeah," Kathy muttered. "Keep me out of that one."
