(Sorry for the obscenely long post....had to cover a back story and wanted to
be at least a little descriptive...besides Part II is where Pyyrus's new quest
begins. =)
--The Hammond Research Station, Far Side of Mt. Moon--
The small lab was dark, as was the sky above them. A pitch black, semi
abyss. The small room that was his lab shimmered though, like a small firefly
in a field covered in the night. The hum of computers could be heard. Along
with the light given off by their monitors, it was almost like a search light
clashing with the black of the room.
Dr. Black sighed as he watched Seismograph. This wasn't what he had signed
on. His dream had been to travel to the wasteland of the Upper Lunas mountains
and find the Legendary Bird Articuno, or perhaps some other rare or exotic
species of Pokemon. Life is never what you for though, and now he was stuck
here in small room, crammed with all kinds of test equipment to monitor
volcanic activity up here. Small pockets of hot spring water act as cradles of
life up here, past them is nothing but a barren wasteland of ice and rock,
combining to form a terrain that is both treacherous and beautiful, all at the
same time.
This was not a good use of his time, he'd rather be off playing with his pet
Eevee than doing this. Just watching a little pen draw a straight line, that
was his day...or was. All of the sudden, the needle started to dance like it
was on fire. Back and forth, faster and faster in an endless rhythm. It then
started to vibrate as an ear splitting explosion was heard, breaking two of
three needles on the Seismograph. The shockwave rattled everything, beakers
fell, computers toppled, and monitors plummeted to their doom.
Dr. Black had been thrown to the floor by the sudden explosion. He managed
to crawl under the main table, shielding him from falling materials. He heard
shattering and sparking as parts of electronics and glass went flying
everywhere. Then, after the main shockwave came a massive silence, like a
Viper waiting to strike, came the calm after the storm. The small lab had been
gutted by the moon light...but it wasn't a full out tonight!
Dr. Black stood up to see a hole, a giant hole. It looked almost like a
volcano crater The sight of the massive explosion had come from the place
where the crater was, all of Mt. Pluto was gone. A gentle smoke rose from
above the crater, giving the mark of where the explosion had happened...and
Black did the only thing he could think of...he fainted.
--Meanwhile, about 15 minutes before the explosion, 3 Miles due north from
Hammond Station--
A dark cavern looms on the horizon, and a river gently flows out of it. The
cavern was once carved from a massive upsurge of hot spring water, that washed
most of the rock out, leaving a mineral rich cave. Now, the silence of a
hundred years was broken as a small half-track zooms up towards it. The half
track is the PokeRover 1000, a huge contraption for trainers on a mission to
get around in. At the wheel, Chris Pyyrus, still searching for anything he
could use in his quest.
Chris had spent 3 ½ months searching the wilderness for new Pokemon, all he
had for his invested time was frostbitten toes and way too much wasted
materials. This was his last chance, to catch anything before his 4 month
deadline for the expedition was cut off. He was low on supplies and most of
his Pokemon needed medical attention. Pyro in particular, was badly hurt from
the water forming whenever he walked over the snow, which had been a lot of the
early trip.
The great Gyarados that supposedly hunted up here had recently been seen moving
up river from the air, and had entered the cave.
He rolled the Rover to a small clearing on a small ledge overlooking a
massive 100 ft. drop straight down. Chris leaped out of the Rover and grabbed
his survival bag, along with the only three battle worthy Pokemon he had. He
headed for the mouth of the massive cavern, and reached into his pack and
pulled out the MultiDex. The MultiDex was the combination of a PokeDex, along
with a variety of GPS, Local Geographical Reports, and the primitive Pokemon
Radar system pioneered on Cinnibar Island. Flipping on the MultiDex, he passed
the time waiting for it to power on by grabbing a flashlight also out the open
pack and zipped it back up. Finally the MultiDex came online, and a dim light
shined off of it.
"Welcome to the Multiple Purpose and Task PokeDex, how may I help you?" the
MultiDex said in a dull computer like voice. It really got old after a while,
but this tin can worked and provided more than enough info then to be left back
home.
"MultiDex, Radar online," Chris instructed the little red handheld computer.
The Dex went black for a second and powered up its scanning feature. The Radar
located any Pokemon within 50 ft. Not bad, but it needed work. Not being able
to detect flyers and distorted by objects of massive size, it wasn't quite the
item for the job.
"Scan complete. No Pokemon withing 10 ft. All other scan data lost do to
large amounts of radiation." The MultiDex chirped, as the screen became a
little scrambled from something just beyond the flashlight's range.
"Radiation? That doesn't make any sense..." Chris said, as he began walking.
He took four steps before he found where the radiation was ...he took one step
too far. The supposedly solid rock floor crumbled into to nothing, and he fell
down into an abyss. He fell, and fell, and just for a new trick, he fell some
more.
Down he fell, lower, and lower, and lower until suddenly he hit
something....or did he? He didn't feel the pain of an impact and the floor was
dimly lit, so he knew he wasn't on the ground because he could see everything
from above. Some kind of force had caught him and was slowly guiding him down
to the ground, 10, 5, and then 1.foot. Finally he was deposited on the ground..
Chris was not to say VERY freaked by this...but things were about to get a
whole lot weirder. After 10 seconds of being on the ground of this pit,
blinding ceiling lights came on. This revealed that he was in come sort of
tank. The tank was about 10 ft. X 10 ft, and cut out of pure stone. It looked
like pure white marble, a rich white that looked like it had been quarried two
days ago. The tank had several viewing holes, which looked like some sort of
crystal. The crystal shimmered in a rainbow of colors, red, blue, and then
green. The pure white walls and the shimmering crystal brought an aura of
peace and beauty to the tank, a place of serenity.
He grabbed Aztec's Pokeball and brought the dragon out. In a burst of red
energy, the form of a Dragonair longer than the room formed.
"Draiiii" she said, glad to be out and stretch her massive form out from
being crammed into a Pokeball. She slithered around a little, and then plunked
herself down in a corner, coiled ready for a nice, long nap.
"Lazy bones." Chris said as he glanced at Aztec. He glanced over at an area
of the tank he hadn't seen before, it had a panel that had some strange
markings on it. The panel looked like it was some sort of inscription telling
of the tank. The glyphs on it seemed strange, like nothing he ever saw before.
They were inducing, almost as if they were trying to jump off the wall and
tell him what there secrets were...
But the wonder of the gylphs trace was soon broken, as something was spat out
by what appeared to be a speaker, about 5 ft. Up on the SW area of the tank.
What it said made no sense, it was to the extent of, "Oipu, Nyhui Juiopi!"
Chris was dumbfounded that this thing actually still did ANYTHING....but when
two massive drums of liquid slide into the tank, Chris knew something was
wrong. The drums were a deep black marble like material, almost shimmering.
Each one literally popped, a cork was released on the side of each. They both
started pumping some sort of liquid out, out of one orange, out of the other
purple. The liquids headed towards separate sides of the room when something
happened...holes started spewing the liquid everywhere. The liquids began to
mix, first a little at a time. Soon the were massive pockets of the orange and
purple brew. Then the liquids stopped flowing and the barrels started to pump
out some sort of gas. The gas was smelly and made Chris drowse he tried to
keep his eyes open, and could barely. Aztec was already asleep, so she didn't
have to worry.
Then, came a massive shot from the ceiling. It was a flare of some sort and
detonated in the middle of the gas cloud....a huge flash of white
occurs...Chris lets off a scream, but no one hears for he is all alone. His
scream dies out as a massive explosion envelopes the room...then the
mountain...then silence....an eerie silence....one of death...
To Be Continued...
What has happened?
Has Chris survived?
What was that he found?
Stay tuned for more!
