From: Ensign CJ <ensigncj@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] Chris leaves the Center... Date: Friday, August 20, 1999 8:32 PM (Last time, Chris went through some trauma, got a new mission, and got a new start....what can go wrong now?) --Outside Ceryu Research Center, Cerulean City-- Slow and steady wins the race....well for Chris that was going to have to be the pace that he moved. With no flying Pokemon to cut down trip time, and no ground transportation other than his feet, this trip was going to be a long one. He planned on leaving here as soon as possible, if not sooner. Chris packed only what he had been given by the Center. A few days worth of clothes, a few snacks for on the road, a small lantern, a sleeping bag, and a his Ceryu Translator. The Translator was just that, it could translate most if not all Ceryu text. It could analyze the text for any abnormalities and provide the full copy of an inscription even if most parts were faded by over a 1000 years of weathering or erosion. The Translator also had a limited Pokedex feature and was a direct link to the Center...a vital part of the recovery plan if Chris managed to find any of the Ancient Scrolls. Now that he was packed up, dressed and ready, he grabbed his Pokeballs and headed out off to begin his new quest. --Outside of the Hammond Research Center-- It took Chris a few minutes to exit the Research Center. Its long winding corridors were hard to maneuver and all looked the same. Stark white was the color of the walls. The doors all seemed to be the same blend of white and charcoal. Well, after getting lost three times...and getting more a few whistles from the male interns...he managed to make out, where he was greeted by Dr. Emel. "Well, I see your ready to begin your journey." Dr. Emel said as he smiled. "Sure am." Chris responded. Chris began to walk away, just as he was almost beyond Dr. Emel's reach, Emel grabbed his shoulder. "Not so fast, there are a few things you need to know before you go. First off about your Pokemon. Peppy is excessively happy and Mach is obscenely depressed...watch out for that. The other thing is that you might want to hit up the Cerulean City Gym for any leads...the rumor is that in the other cities the Gym Leaders have knowledge of ancient ruins, etc. Since Misty followed Ash for all that time on his journey, she probably picked up a little bit about each city," Emel said, trying to remember anything else to tell Chris before he set off..."Oh yes, one last set of things, Mach knows Supersonic, Double Team, Leech Life, and Bite. Peppy knows Doubleslap, Defensive Curl, Sing, and Bide. With Peppy she will only use Bide if the precise command of ‘Do the Wave' is given." Chris nodded, figuring that knowing any knowledge of his Pokemon will help him. Now he had two choices ahead of him. He could either try and sharpen his skills by heading to the Cerulean City Gym, and battling Misty or heading south towards Vermillion City. He had a new team so the choice was obvious...he'd have to go test his skills against Misty. To be Continued! (Sorry this really lacks any creativity....my next post is gonna be quite weird...I'm gonna do their battle from the eyes of an announcer who just sits in the audience and looks cute...if that's legal. Please tell me if that is legal or not.) -Rain Dance pokefreakazoid@yahoo.com -Chris Pyyrus **************** High Priest of the Garfield Syndicate ****************************************** Garfield is no cat!
