She looked the same way she usually did, except for one thing. In addition to the bead necklace she usually wore, she had an amber pendant around her neck. She walked up to the front desk and took out a pokeball. "May I help you?" a girl at the desk asked. "Yes," Amy said. "Do you accept Pokemon for care here?" "Well, I don't see why not," the girl answered. "I'll have to check with Erika to see if it's ok, though. What kind are you planning to give us? I assume it's a grass type." "Oh, yes," Amy said. "It's an Exeggutor." "All right," the girl replied. "I'll be back in a few minutes." She then left the room to find Erika. There was a door behind the desk, that lead to the greenhouse area of the gym. Looking through it, Amy saw most of went on in that section of the gym. People were watering the many plants. The gym's Pokemon were exercising and playing among the plants. She also saw the girl from the desk talking to Erika. Just then, the girl from the front desk came back. "Erika says it's okay," she said. "I'll take the Pokemon now." Amy set the Pokeball down on the desk and turned around. "Thank you! Goodbye!" the girl at the desk said, as Amy walked out the door. ------------------------ ------------------------ ~Celadon City Pokemon Center Dan was sitting in the lobby. Clefairy was in the seat next to him. "The past few weeks have been quite confusing," Dan thought. "But then, so has my whole life..." "But I guess that's what happens when you start a Pokemon journey. Your life gets turned upside down...quite frequently, I might add..." "I guess I'm on my own again..." ~~~ Dan and Amy had gotten to Celadon a few days ago, planning to go on to Fuschia from there. But Amy insisted that they stay in Celadon for a while, so that's what they did. Most of Dan's time there was spent checking the latest research information. Amy tried to figure out the route they should take next. Then, quite suddenly, Amy suggested that she continue by herself... ~ "Well, I just wanted to know..." "What? Just tell me!" "Well, would it be okay with you if I just...continued on by myself?" "Sure. Why not?..." ~ After Amy's announcement, Dan took one of the amber pieces he found at the fossil dig to a jewelery store, and had it made into a pendant. The next day, Dan gave Amy the pendant as a going-away present. He also gave her his Exeggutor, with instructions to drop it off at Celadon Gym. With that, Amy left. ~~~ "I make friends with someone who's been my rival for years, and after a few weeks, she leaves." Dan sighed. "I guess that's how things go sometimes." "I'll find new friends sometime," he thought. "That's what Pokemon journeys are all about. Not badges or catching them all or becoming the best..." Dan stood up and smiled. "We will meet again," he thought.
