From: Josh <diane@magicnet.net> Subject: [PW!] Episode 3, Dragonair in Thunder Forest Date: Tuesday, August 24, 1999 3:09 PM -Dragonair in Thunder Forest-Episode 3 Zane's Squirtle just got finished fighting a Ponyta, which Zane captured. He now has two Pokemon and has finally eaten. He then found a sign stating that Thunder Forest was in the direction that he was going. Next stop for Zane and his Pokemon…Thunder Forest. Zane runs to the beginning of the forest but stops, as he sees electrical bolts light the sky. He starts to think that it would be a bad idea to go through Thunder Forest with only two Pokemon. He decides to go through it and walks into the forest. He sees thousands of trees filled with fruits, but all to tall for him to reach. He continues to walk, looking for fruits that may have fallen. Out of the corner of his eye he sees a dozen bananas that have fallen from a nearby tree. He picks it up and immediately a net falls over him. The net is very small so it doesn't even cover him up. "Excuse me," he hears as he is taking off the net. A man comes out of a nearby bush wearing all camaflogue clothes. "I'm sorry for what happened, I'm Mason," he says, "that trap was put their to catch wild Pokemon." "That's alright," says Zane, "I was clumsy, I should have known better. I let my hunger get the best of me." "Oh," says Mason as he looks at Zane's Pokeballs. "Say, you're a Pokemon trainer aren't you," he asks. "That's right," Zane says. "How would you like to battle me in a 2 on 2 Pokemon match. I'll give you 1,500 gil if you beat me," says Mason. Zane, not knowing whether or not Squirtle and Ponyta are healthy enough, agrees to the fight. Standing at a distance away from each other, the man throws his Pokeball, releasing his Magnemite. "Magnemite," the Pokemon says. "A Magnemite," says Zane, "Alright. Squirtle, I choose you." "Squirtle Squirtle," he says as he jumps out of the Pokeball and is ready to fight. "Magnemite uses anti-gravity to stay suspended in air. Appears without warning and uses Thunderwave and similar moves," says Zane. "Be careful Squirtle alright , Tail Whip," Zane says. Squirtle circles his enemy, then smacks him with his tail, lowering his defenses. "Magnemite," says Mason, "Tackle him." Magnemite flies straight for Squirtle, hitting him very hard. Squirtle falls to the ground, but staggers back up. "Alright Magnemite while he's weak, Thundershock," says Mason. A bolt of electricity comes from Magnemite, hitting Squirtle. Squirtle falls the ground once again, but can't get up this time. Zane looks in awe at his fallen Pokemon. "Squirtle return," says Zane. Squirtle returns to his Pokeball as Zane throws a different one. "Alright Ponyta," he says, "don't let me down." "Ponyta," he says as he comes out of the Pokeball looking fierce, yet gentle. "Ponyta, Ember attack," Zane says. Fire suddenly surrounds Magnemite, then hits him. Magnemite begins to shake in the air. "Now Ponyta, Stomp," says Zane. Ponyta begins to run towards Magnemite, then jumps in the air and stomps on Magnemite while jumping. Magnemite immediately hits the ground. "Magnemite…return," says Mason. "Go Magneton," he says. "Magneton," he says as he comes out of the Pokeball. "Magneton is formed by several Magnemites linked together. They frequently appear when sunspots flare up," says Zane. "Watch out for his electrical attacks Ponyta," he says, "now use your Growl attack on him." Ponyta opens his mouth, and a huge growl is heard making Magneton's attacks less effective. "Now use your Tail Whip attack Ponyta," he says. Ponyta circles Magneton then smacks him with his tail, lowering his defenses. Magneton falls a little, but straitens up. "Magneton," says Mason, "Thundershock." A bolt of electricity comes out of Magneton and hits Ponyta. Ponyta falls to the ground and looks fainted. Silence spreads across the forest. Zane, getting ready to call his Ponyta back, stops when he sees a twitch in Ponyta's leg. Ponyta slowly rises and looks back at Zane. "Pony Ponyta," says the Pokemon. "Alright Ponyta, I wont call you back, but be careful," Zane says. "Ponyta, Ember attack," he says. Fire spreads around Magneton, then attacks him, making him fall to the ground. Magneton slowly rises and stares at Ponyta. "Now while he's weak, Stomp attack," he says. Ponyta runs towards Magneton and jumps over him, and while in the air Stomps on him, making him fall to the ground. Magneton slowly moves on the ground, then goes motionless, declaring Zane the winner. "Magneton…return," says Mason. "You win boy, heres your 1,500 gil," Mason says. "If you need anything else, there's a Pokemart and Pokemon Center right down this road, good luck getting through the forest boy," he says. Zane watches Mason leave and then makes Ponyta return to the Pokeball. While on his way to the Pokemon Center, Zane sees electrical bolts coming out of a lake. He walks up to the lake and sees the head of a Dragonair coming out of the water. "A Dragonair," says Zane. "Their mythical dragon Pokemon, but why is it in Thunder Forest," he says. "I'm gonna catch it," he says, "Ponyta, I choose you." Ponyta comes out of the Pokeball, laying on the ground with it's eyes barely open. Zane realizing that he has to choose between his Pokemon's health or a rare Pokemon, he chooses his Pokemon's health, returns him to the Pokeball, and goes on his way to the Pokemon Center. After walking for a little while, he comes across the Pokemon Center and the Pokemart. He goes into the Pokemon Center first, not realizing that he is being followed by a Pokemon.
