The yongest son, Leon, had just turned 12, the age his mother told him he could begin training Pokemon. The small boy was a bundle of energy, and he couldn't wait until he went to the Safari Zone to catch his first Pokemon. "Hey, mom, watch me bring home a Chansey tomorrow!" Leon cried out, racing through the kitchen with his birthday present, a belt with 6 Poke Balls. "Of course darling. But don't be too disappointed if you come home with something else. Don't forget, your brother first caught a male Nidoran," Mrs. Gendo replied. Leon considered this carefully. His brother, while not a champion, managed to gain admission to teh highly elite Pokemon League. Leon was always looking up to his brother, and wanted to even surpass him. ----- Professor Dion looked out into the fence, into the trainer's paradise, the Safari Zone. He worried about it alot, especially since some trainers insist on using rocks rather than food to capture Pokemon. And he heard rahter cruel tales about Safari Balls. He looked down at his only Pokemon, Magic the Abra. "Well, Magic, do you think they will be alright today?" Dion asked his diminutive friend. "Ab-rrra!" Magic replied back, almost purring. "I suppose you are right," Dion smiled back, "How about we see to that group of Exeggcute that came in today... they will need some care." "Ra?" Magic suddenly said, looking out into the Safari Zone. He pointed to a shape moving about, which was loudly throwing rocks all around. Dion stared for a mment, and suddenly hopped over the fence. "Magic, come on! That kid could seriously injure some Pokemon... and if that Pokemon is a Tauros, we are in serious trouble!" ----- "Uh!" Leon screamed, as he hurled another rock, causing Nidorans of all types to quickly scatter. At first, Leon tried tossing food, but discovered he could cause more Pokemon to appear when he threw rocks. He tossed a rock and hit a Paras straight on the 'shroom. It turned and charged Leon, who quickly caught it in a Safari Ball. "Alright, my first capture!" he yelled out joyously. At that moment, Dion ran up. "What are you, crazy?" he yelled almost hysterically, "if you keep throwing rocks like that, you could seriously hurt some Pokemon!" "What does it matter, old man? They are just dumb beasts." "You'd be surprised," the Professor noted, "This Abra here," he says, motioning to Magic, "Is at least as smart as I, and I have a degree in Pokemon medicine. In fact, my knowledge on the matter has been called obscene by Professor Oak himself." "Whatever, gramps, you're just trying to cramp my first catch. Besides, why isn't your Abra not in a Poke Ball?" "Because it doesn't HAVE a Poke Ball, you insolent child!" Dion almost screamed, "now calm down with the rocks! Start treating them with respect!" "It doesn't? Then I guess it's not your Pokemon then, huh?" And with that, Leon quickly flipped a Poke Ball at the Abra. The ball twitched for a couple of seconds, and then a capture light on the side lit up. "Guess he's mine now, gramps. See ya, sucker," Leon said, laughing as he walked away. Dion could only look at the boy in shock. "Give me back... my friend..." Dion said, stunned beyond belief.
