Several minutes later, Mimic was sipping some lemonade, while Seth and
Aeire shared a creme lemon pie. [1]
"So, where *is* Slasher, anyway?"
"Slasher play Clefairy!"
Seth blinked.
"Slasher curled up, purring, help heal injured human. Look too cute.
Mimic no try impression, for Slasher's pride's sake."
"Slasher...cute?" Seth was doing his best to avoid snarfing the pie
filling in his mouth.

Slasher rolled back onto his feet and growled. Blood that was not his
own marred his right cheek.
In front of him, several weak, nearly feral Meowths glared back with
looks of equal parts fear and defiance. When they spotted a lone
Persian without any obvious trained, they thought they had their next
meal. They had not counted on their foe being so strong.
A loose circle of humans watched, but did nothing to interfere. Poor to
the point of desparation, this band of humans followed the Meowths
around, eagerly scooping up any coins left behind from their Payday
attacks. Anything that caused these Meowths to fight was another meal
they could afford. Two attacks in one day, and they could resupply the
medicines that kept the sicker half of them alive. A prolonged battle
like this was, in their eyes, unprecedented bounty, to be defended at
all costs. Officer Jenny, who had tried to break up the fight, was
tied, gagged, knocked out, and discarded to one side; the vagrants had
stripped everything but the bare minimum of clothes she would need to
keep her dignity...and to keep from freezing to death in the cold night
before she woke up.
Slasher roared, and again summoned Thunder, letting the electricity
cascade along a ground now covered with metal discs, shocking the
Meowths and sending them futher back. He knew he could not last
forever, and he had to save some strength if he was to find his master
again. Giving the Meowths one last threatening gaze, he sped off
towards Maiden's Peak, hoping they would not give chase.
Fortunately, Slasher's gamble paid off; the other felines were more
interested in licking their wounds at this point. The humans never
were interested in the meat, instead converging on the pile of wealth
that would, if spent wisely, sustain them for at least two more days...

"Nahh," Seth quipped, "I can't see Slasher ever being *cute*."
TBC?
[1] And if you get *that* reference...why, yes, it is my opinion of
certain prior actions of theirs. ^_^
