Said Aeris with disgust. >"I agree. After we steal their Technology, we kill them. Any >objections?" Ask Car'tos to the group onboard the Tie'nek Detention >Craft en route to the Palace of Cities. >"Heh, I don't mind." Answered one Tie'nek. >"Im up to it." Answered another. >"It's all good." >"I see why not." >"Very well, I'll inform the rest of the troops." "Any hope of backup?" asked an officer. "I vote that after we spend a few weeks here, we call the Light of Distant Suns and raze this world to the ground." "Agreed," nodded another. "These creatures are too stupid for slave labour anyway. Malique will want this world cleansed of alien life." Julian sat, listening to the somewhat savage conversation. The Moluvia was unchallenged anywhere, only the restrictions of the Alkyr/Hampstead Agreement preventing dominance of the universe. Most of the colonists were ex-military, and accustomed to battle. His men were in high spirits, most with weapons and other technological devices concealed about their person and confidence of Moluvian superiority. Things weren't as bad as they looked. What kind of a race names itself the Neckties, anyway? >The giant ship hovered above the Palace, releasing the many small Troop >Transport containing the Moluvians. Car'tos' craft entered the main >hanger where the Colossus came out of before. After the twenty or so >Transports landed, seven large, rectangular craft emerged from the >Aku's under belly. ---------- >"Copy, prisoners landed. Colossus and Underlin's descending." >"Copy, good hunting." Car'tos switched his Comm off, and walked down >the glossy floored room. He reached a gold door, went inside, and sat >down near some Tie'nek Technicians. He picked up a gray colored >headset, and flicked it on. "Ok, whats this I hear about a Massive >Power Source coming from what.." He picked up a clip board, and flipped >a few sheets, "..Tai Nekku Bog?!" >"Yes, sir. We think it maybe a Blue Time Ebb..." Car'tos' face went >blank. >"Er.. a ChoronoShift, sir." >"Ah, yes. I knew that, just testing you.." A bit of sweat started to >drip down. "Anyway, Ros'co wants you to check it out.." Car'tos got up, >and was about to run out the door, "..*After* you interrogate the >visitors." >Car'tos hung his head, and walked out of the room. Returning from the depths of the jungle, Theore looked around in the clearing. He'd killed three of the reptilian beasts, and carried their bodies with him. But in the clearing there were signs of a struggle, blood, and no human. "Why does this always happen to me..." wailed Theore. He slumped against a cyan tree, bawling in an overexaggurated SD-anime style. ---------- >The Aku. First D'ahmaren Super Cruiser ever made. A ship well over 300 >years old. It's sheer size is enough to make the enemy jump out of >battle as it nears. Over 4000 laser batteries at either side of the >ship. 100 super lasers on it's Gravity Wings. One massive Galaxy Gun >housed in the front section of the cylinder above the Bridge. The name >itself strikes fear to all those who have seen or even _heard_ of what >it does. "What did you think of that capital ship anyway?" asked the first of Theore's honour guard to the other. "Small. Needs bigger guns, and less of the smaller ones. If that's their largest ship, when our escort gets here this'll be over very quickly. The Albatros is still active." Picking up the Albatros flight recorder, the second bodyguard pressed a few buttons on the screen. The Albatros had been firmly secured to the underside of the Aku, its small size rendering it invisible to Tie'nek scanners. "It's in some kind of battle. Their capital-ship weapon's about to be discharged." >Little energy balls flew from every which way to the Cannon's tip. Much >like a Black Hole, but only energy was pulled. It came from everywhere, >Laser shots, lights from ships, even from the Aku's engine itself. All >gathering in that one spot until a sphere of sorts encased the tip. The >green lights turned red, and the Cannon fired. "Must be a quantum singularity launcher," said the first as he watched the screen. "Child's play." >It took mere seconds for the beam to reach the planet. As it cut >through the sky, the atmosphere turned dark. The beam neared the >surface, making the land boil and seas to burn. It burned through the >crust, and made it's way to the core. It hit it's mark, and the world >turned chaotic. The gravity went off, the air stung the lungs, the >water stopped. Indeed, the world was dying. >In a matter of days, that planet would look and be much like Earth's >Moon; Dead. A pulse of energy slammed into the Albatros, tearing it into thousands of pieces. The screen burst into static. "Some kind of magitech weapon?" asked the first. "That's powerful." "Maybe they're terraformers like us?" said the second. "That weapon seems to work like an Orbital Adjuster, but slightly different in delivery." "Orbital Adjuster? Terraformers? You're the intellectual, I mainly just hurt people." One of the bodyguards had served on a spaceships before, while the other hadn't left his homeworld of Satyr until today. The second removed his helm. There were traces of avian still running through his features, but he was distinctly Human. "It's a terraforming weapon. While other races have to adjust to suit a planet, the Moluvian way is to adjust the planet to suit ourselves, to "terraform" it. You know, playing around with gravity, temperature and radiation. Someone had the idea to use terraforming as a weapon." "How?" "Well, think about this. Increase an enemy world's gravity to such a degree that their bodies are crushed like paper, or lower it so everything just floats away into the void. Boil or freeze all life on a planet. Increase radiation to kill, or lower it to sterilise." His red eyes glimmered, no doubt he'd witnessed one of these "Orbital Adjusters" in action. "Uh-huh." It went right over the first bodyguard's head. ---------- >Car'tos reached the room, and went inside, ready to talk to the aliens. >"Alright... What is it?" The room was filled with Moluvians, all laughing heartily at Car'tos' puzzled expression. A hole was punched clean through the torn-off door that lay propped against the cell wall, and was serving as a cubby nest for the infants. Julian was missing. Car'tos opened up the comm channel. "Find them. Now." ---------- (Sorry for the delay. Mentos, have Car'tos do a bit of sightseeing before he locks Julian up again in order to describe the palace, I don't know what it looks like so I won't be able to write it. And don't have Julian fight back, just roughly escort him back to his cell.) -- Cat-Gonk. ---------------------------- Do you believe in Goddish?
