We might not be too late after all.> Meanwhile, in Viridian City... Orion was suddenly beginning to feel cold. Odd, since this was the middle of August. He put on a sweater and began hearing strange noises outside. Almost like a Pokémon fight. Having nothing better to do, he went downstairs and opened the door to leave. The Gym and a few other buildings were encased in ice, snow was falling, and a thick layer of ice sheeted all the streets. Orion looked up in the sky to see what was going on. Articuno, much more slow and graceful than the other Legendary Birds, was gradually putting the city in to deep freeze. The flocks of birds surrounding it were surprisingly dormant as they watched the city's slow destruction. Articuno turned towards Orion, and he dove into his house and shut the door. He felt the door against him become freezing cold. He ran out of the way in time to see huge blades of ice impale the door, the windows, the entire wall. The ice spread quickly through the building. Orion scrambled out of the building through the back door, chased by blades of ice searing through the floor. He could still hear the other residents upstairs, too afraid to move. Orion could now see a helicopter moving in fast from the north. The giant ice bird didn't notice it, and continued to freeze the city and anyone unlucky enough to be outside. "PLEASE STAY CALM!" boomed a voice in the helicopter. "STAY INSIDE YOUR HOMES! WE WERE SENT BY THE POKEMON LEAGUE! WE WILL NOW HANDLE THIS SITUATION!" With that, the helicopter dropped hundreds of Pokéballs onto the street, releasing Electric and Fire Pokémon of nearly all species. The Electric Pokémon began to fry the flocks of birds, but the Fire Pokémon all froze at the sight of Articuno. The Electric Pokémon soon stood still too. They then began to destroy the city even further, burning and shocking anything that wasn't frozen. "What's going on?" thought Orion as he hid behind his frozen apartment. TBC...
