"I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself too much." Marvin chuckles at the boy who
cant seem to walk in a straight line anymore since he has Serayna's legs, "Serayna
might not like getting bruises on her butt!"
Serayna looks over at Jason and nods, the Oddish nodding with her, "You'd better
behave or I'll start hurting your legs! Or maybe something else of yours, if you
know what I'm saying..."
Marvin turns towards the crowd, who has now settled down, and is waiting for more
tricks, "Now, I shall change them back to normal! ...well, as normal as they're
getting, anyhow!" Marvin pulls a large blue blanket off the floor. He wraps the
sheet around both Jason and Serayna, so that their lower halves are completely
covered. "Presto, Change-o!" The moment Marvin pulls the sheet away, Jason is
wearing his blue jeans again and Serayna is in her form-fitting black pants. The
audience applauds, surprised that Marvin could fix them so quickly!
"Did it work?" Jason asks, reaching down and feeling his legs, glad to find out his
jeans are there. Inferno, his Growlithe, barks happily and rubs up against his
trainer's leg.
Marvin shakes Jason's hand, "Thank you for participating, you may now step off the
stage and become part of the audience!" Inferno leads Jason off the stage on
Marvin's request.
"I have no idea where this Oddish came from..." Marvin starts, turning to Serayna,
but speaking to the audience, "However, that'll just make any illusion I perform on
it spontaneous!" Marvin places his hand on his chin, trying to figure out what he
can do to the Oddish attached to Serayna's wavy red hair.
Serayna struggles with the Oddish rather comically, and the audience laughs more.
At one point, she sits down and tries to kick it off with her feet, still shoeless
after the illusion. The audience responds the same way anyone would at someone
trying to kick their own head with bare feet... Some were laughing and others were
frightened!
"Okay, alright, settle down now! I'll make this Oddish disappear!" Marvin
approaches Serayna with the same blue cloth used earlier. He drops the cloth on the
sitting Serayna, then pulls it away... The Oddish is no longer on her head!
Serayna looks around from left to right, "Where'd it go?"
Instead of one, two Oddish leap out of Marvin's magical blue cloth! They both
waddle towards Serayna. One attaches itself to her head and another sits on her
lap. They all start chirping out, "Oddish! Oddish!"
"I'm still getting the kinks out..." Marvin stares at his blue blanket and drapes
it over Serayna once more. With one sweep, the two Oddish disappear! "There, I
think that fixed your little Oddish situation!" It isn't long before not one, not
two, but three Oddish leap out of the blanket, all saying their own name cheerily
and attaching themselves to Serayna. The audience laughs and Serayna herself starts
laughing, enjoying being on stage.
"Three little Oddish sitting on a Serayna..." Marvin begins to sing, but suddenly
stops when the audience boos him. "Hey, I know a great way to get rid of Oddish!"
Marvin plucks one Oddish off Serayna. He faces the audience, "We all know that
Oddish are Seed Pokemon... and thus are likely to grow into just about anything..."
Marvin withdraws a black and white magic wand, "But have you ever seen an Oddish
grow into this?" Marvin taps the wand onto the Oddish's leafy hair and places the
Pokemon on the floor.
The Grass Pokemon starts to glow... and grow... and change shape. The tiny Grass
Pokemon transforms into a large Fire Pokemon called Ponyta. The flaming horse kicks
her front legs up and Stomps them down in front of Serayna. The Ponyta looks up
towards the sky and breathes out a pillar of fire!
Both of the remaining Oddish on Serayna look very frightened by the Fire Pokemon!
One Oddish leaps off Serayna's head and runs off to the hills. The other leaps off
her lap and runs behind the caravan. Marvin holds Serayna's hand and helps her onto
the Ponyta, "For being such a great assistant, I'll let you ride this Ponyta around
the park!"
Serayna grabs onto the Ponyta's neck, surprised that the flames on the Pokemon's
back aren't burning her. The Ponyta dashes off the stage for a brisk gallop around
the park! Serayna just holds on tight and enjoys the ride.
Marvin then turns his attention to the crowd, "Thank you, everyone! You've been a
wonderful audience!" He makes sure this comment is accurate by glancing out at the
money on the stage, verifying that it is all real. "I hope you enjoyed today's
illusions! I'd like to thank Jason Wright and Serayna for helping me out! Good bye,
everyone!"
The audience lets out one final roar of applause before slowly moving away from the
caravan. A few people stay to ask Marvin some questions, most of which Marvin
answers by saying "It's magic!" Among the people who stay is Jason Wright and his
Growlithe, still wondering exactly what was going on during the second illusion.
Once most everyone has left the park, Serayna comes galloping in on the Ponyta,
laughing all the way, "Wow, this sure was fun! You're a great magician, Melvin!"
"That's Marvin!" Marvin adjusts his shirt collar, "There is another magician called
Melvin, but... I don't like to talk about him." Marvin helps Serayna off the
Ponyta. The fire horse runs behind the caravan. Marvin smiles at Serayna, "You were
a spectacular assistant! I usually find it so hard to find good assistants. Every
woman who's tagged along with me to perform in other cities always gets angry at me
and runs away! I'd ask you to come with me on a ship to my next destination,
Fuschia City, but I know you're on a Pokemon Journey and everything. So I wish you
good luck challenging that Lieutenant Surge guy. I hear he's tough. I hope you
win!"
"How'd you know I was going to challenge him?" Serayna asks the magician, "Oh wait,
it's magic, right?"
Marvin chuckles and rubs his hand in Serayna's red hair, "Nope, I just noticed that
you don't have the Thunder Badge pinned on your backpack! Like I said, good luck!
Oh, and you might want to take these!" Marvin holds up Serayna's shoes. The girl
laughs and puts them back on. Marvin smiles, "Like I said, good luck on your
Pokemon Journey!"
