Mars shot a thought to Alyssa from his Pokeball. *Well, it was worth a
shot, Ranma.*
"Who you callin' Ranma?!" Alyssa yelled, calling out Mars. The Abra
sweatdropped as Alyssa grabbed it. Or would have, but Alyssa was still a
Jynx. Lyss fell flat on the ground as Mars teleported.
*Don't get so angry, Ranma, it was just a joke.* Mars blinked when he
looked over at Dreadite. The Rocket had been replaced with a Golbat,
grinning smugly. Dreadite floated down, touching one foot on the
Golbat's head while staying aloft.
"Okay Golbat, get them! Confuse Ray." Dreadite pointed at the Abra.
"Start with that one."
Mars tried to teleport as the odd light engulphed him. He opened his
eyes for a second, and saw the blurred shapes around him. His thought
patterns weren't much better. Mars was confused.
"Mars? You don't look so good," Alyssa noted, as Mars teleported into a
tree. He tried to stand up, and came crashing to the ground. "In fact,
you look terrible," she added.
*I'll be fine, just a little light headed... interesting giraffes they
have here.*
Alyssa sweatdropped at that. Mars' eyes flashed, as he used Confusion.
Dreadite frowned as his Golbat started to act just as odd as Mars had
been.
"Golbat, do something.. bite the Abra or something," Dreadite muttered,
looking at his belt concerned. Pidgey was too untrained and young to
battle, Wigglytuff was asleep, and Dreadite didn't trust his Chansey or
Jynx in combat that much. But he didn't have much of a choice, he noted
as Golbat bit itself before passing out. Dreadite recalled it, and
pressed a button on his rocketcard. Golbat was sucked into his pokeball,
and teleported away.
*He's using a credit card in the middle of a battle?* Mars asked, a
still a little confused. Alyssa sighed. "That's not a credit card,
Mars. All right, get back in the ball."
Mars returned with a flash, to be replaced with a Hitmonlee. A grumpy
Hitmonlee. "HITMON!"
"My, such manners. Well, no matter." Dreadite called out his Jynx, much
to the charign of Alyssa. "Jynx.. Lovely Kiss."
"Lovely kiss? LOVELY? That thing is ugly, that's what it is." Alyssa
stomped her Jynx foot angrily. "Kick it, do something!"
Dreadite's Jynx passed out with one shashing kick to the face. Dreadite
swore under his breath, and the Hitmonlee repeated every word. Dreadite
just shut up, and angrily flicked a ball. Out came a Clefable.
"That's it, you insolent little rat. I'm sick of playing games."
Dreadite just pointed at the Hitmonlee, and frowned. The Clefable lept
up, and prosceeded to let out a psychic blast that make Mars shiver in
his Pokéball. The Hitmon was flung backwards through the tree that Mars
had fallen out of. Dreadite smiled, and spread his wings, for effect.
The effect wasn't naccisarily lost of the Hitmon, as it was the last
thing it saw before fainting from the psychic attack.
"I am the darkness. The light just fades away. You've lost, it's just a
matter of time now," Dreadite stated, coldly. He stepped forward,
waiting for Alyssa to make a move. Alyssa called out her Persian, and
waited. The next blow never came. Dreadite wasn't there anymore.
"What? Erin, did you see where that guy went?"
Erin blinked, and pointed at Dreadite, who was sitting down, talking into
his Rocketcard. Dreadite cringed. "Yes sir, Giovanni. But why her?"
"Because I think it's a worthwhile pairing. Don't question that." The
distorted voice flicked off, and Dreadite swore. "Well, it looks like
this little round goes to you. Duty calls!"
He took off running towards the city. As Dreadite recalled his Clefable,
Mars appeared out of his Pokéball, and shook his head. *Rockets.
They're SO weird.*
"You said it, Mars. Do we follow him, or just leave?"

"And here comes the question whether it is better
to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather
than loved. It might perhaps be answered that we
should wish both; but since love and fear can
hardly exist together, if we must choose between
them, it is far safer to be feared than loved."
