Lance gritted his teeth. Reports were coming in of a vicious attack on
Cinnabar Island, killing those who chose to remain and completely burying the
island under water. Among those who died was Blaine, one of Lance's close
friends. His mind ached and he felt a sickening feeling at the bottom of his
stomach. The creature would arrive in the mainland in less than two hours.
There was nothing that could prevent the impending attack on Pallet Town, but
there must be a way at least a few people could be saved...
Thousands of evacuees flooded Indigo Plateau and Azure Heights, and
thousands more were vainly trying to escape in the defenseless Pokemon League
Headquarters. All this in the time span of less than a week. Viridian City
had crumbled into icy ruins. Celadon City was left scalded and deserted after
Moltres had attacked. Saffron City suffered the same fate. The desperate
citizens, fearing for their lives left behind the other major cities. The
people were blindly waiting for the Pokemon League's interference with the
chaos, but hopes were fading fast. Something had to be done.
Meanwhile...
Giovanni stared coldly at the vast expanse of ocean on the Fuchsia City coast.
He was alone, save for a few of the highest ranked members of Team Rocket.
His mouth tightened into a frown.
"Well, sir? What should we do?" asked Butch, finally. Giovanni glared at him
quickly, and turned away.
"We have one vice left," spoke Giovanni, hesitantly. "It is a huge risk, but
there is one Pokemon in our possession that may be able to defeat this... this
'Lugia' creature. It is highly unreliable and hasn't been affected by our
attempts to control it. But now, since there's not much time left, we have no
other choice."
"What... what is it?"
"You wouldn't know." Giovanni climbed into the helicopter, followed by the
other Rockets. "It is located in Pewter City. There's no time to lose."
::yawn:: Meanwhile, again...
Jirarudan checked and re-checked everything on his damaged, but intact,
floating fortress. Everything needed to go right for his plan to work. If
there was one slip-up, he and his crew members would all perish. Having
finished, he went back to the front of the fortress to await Lugia.
Back on the coast of the Seafoam Islands...
"Arrgh..." muttered Nori. "Enough talk already. We need to get there as fast
as we can!"
"It's no use," sighed Orion. "Everything will be destroyed by the time we get
there."
"Don't think that way!" snapped Karen. "We can't just roll over and play dead
while this monster wrecks everything!"
"And heading over there to get crushed and/or horribly killed is just as
well," replied Dernam.
"We need to come up with a plan. There's no way to beat this thing by force,"
interrupted Dan.
"Yes. As I've said before, we need to find the guy that did this and deal
with him," said Dernam.
"Yeah, and that involves getting back to the mainland. So let's GO already!"
said Rigel.
"Fine. We'll need to split up again, because I think the Writer is getting a
headache trying to include everyone," commented Sirius. "Since I'm the leader,
here's how we'll split up..."
"Dernam, Draco, Nori, and Dern will be the first group. They'll be going
after Lugia," said Steve, ignoring Sirius. "The second group will be me,
Karen, and Orion. We'll seek out the flying-fortress guy and try to make a
deal. The third group will be Sirius, Neo, and Dan (with Clefairy), who'll try
to contact Lance for help. Raven, Gohan, and Rigel, you need to find out what
Team Rocket's doing and if they've got anything to do with it. Did I leave out
anyone? Is everyone OK with this?"
TBC...
