From: Dreadite <dreadite@tsoft.com> Subject: [PW!] The creature of fire, burn the mist of shadow. Date: Wednesday, September 22, 1999 2:26 AM P;OTP: Stuff happened. Dreadite killed people, people came back to life. Average old days. ^_^ (OOC note: The title refers to Flareon.. and Gastly. So you know.) ----- Dreadite sat alone, watching water drip past him, leaving puddles on the floor. Here was the catacombs, the undergroud refuges of those long gone. Zubat flitted about, as creatures of the night. Dreadite glanced up at a low rumbling, and then the faint sound of cursing from above. "Sel.. struct... it," was all he could hear before the constant dripping resumed. Dreadite flicked his sword across the pool of water before him, thinking. Giovanni would not be pleased. But then again, Dreadite hadn't been aiming to please Giovanni. He took one last look around in the dark before getting up. Dreadite stepped into the darkness, deeper into the cave. The footsteps were quickly drown out by another dull roar, as an Onix burst from the ground next to the pool, and began drinking. A particularly large Onix. It quickly absorbed the water, and then tunneled down into the ground, following the quickly retreating Dreadite. ----- Giovanni picked up a paper from his desk, and frowned. Bad news always came at the worst time, and now his son in law was still his son in law. Dreadite would have to hear about this. "He failed," Giovanni stated to the screen in front of him, while steadily petting his Persian. "I trust you can locate him immediatly." The figures on the other side bowed. "Of course, sir." Giovanni flicked off the monitor, and then turned to his aide. "Get me some water, it's frying in here." ----- *Dreadite* *Darkness* *Good, you remember me.* *How could I not?* Dreadite woke with a start. He glanced around the pitch-black cave, and got out of his survival tent. He shook his head, then created a small whisp of flame to find his way around. "This should lead below Lavender, I hope. Rock Tunnel was rather close to it." Dreadite's Pidgey cocked its head to the side. "Pidgeo?" Dreadite smirked. "That's right.. we're going ghost hunting." Dreadite's Pidgey cooed, and flitted up to rest on Dreadite's shoulder. And below the surface, the Onix waited. Now was the time, it felt,, but then its quarry moved. Dreadite took off into the air, and landed some fifteen feet away, on a higher path. "Pidgey, sense that? There's something watching us." "Onniiiixx!" the rock pokemon roared, flinging the hard cavefloor away like chunks of plastic. Dreadite just turned his head and kept walking as the rock type sped towards him. The moment it reached Dreadite, he turned, and disapeared. Dreadite landed slowly on the Onix's head, and looked down. "Feisty one, aren't we? A bit large for the area, I'd expect you in Victory Road. No matter." The onic shook Dreadite off. He flew towards the cave wall, turned, and lept off, landing on the lower ledge in the cave. He looked up at the Onix, sizing his opponent of sorts up. Obviously, the onix was unusual for the area, although typical for the larger, roomier caves around victory road. Dreadite stepped forward. "I can offer you escape, Onix. The end of the hunting." The Onix wasn't exactly tone for words. The folklore says Onix is dumb as the stuff it's made of, and this one was no exception. It crashed its tail into the wall, causing a wall of rock to slide down the embankment towards Dreadite. Dreadite lept above the wall of rock, and landed on his face due to a well timed swipe from Onix. Dreadite got to one knee, and wiped the blood from his mouth. "Rock Slide, tricky." Dreadit reached for a pokeball on his belt. He quickly called forth his Wigglytuff, and pointed at the Onix with his katana. "See that Onix, Wigglytuff? Put it to sleep and weaken it." Dreadite watched the Wigglytuff step forward, and promptly get knocked senseless by the Onix. Dreadite recalled Wigglytuff, and started to get worried. "Ah.. well... okay then." Dreadite pressed a button on belt. I call apon my replacement for Golbat... go Gastly." The ghost flickered from Dreadite's face, appearing above him like a halo. It laughed for a bit, and the onix sweatdropped. Dreadite pointed at the Onix. "All right Gastly. Confuse Ray." Before the Onix count prepare for it, Dreadite extinguished his light. The onix looked around, wating for its sight to return, when the white light ball flickeded towards it, moving faster and slower, and pulsating. The onix tried to take its focus away fromt he ball, but it was too late. The ghastly flicked in front of it, and Dreadite moved silently up behind it, appearing a dull purple glow. "Hypnosis." The Ghastly wtarted sondign waves of sleeping energy into the Onix, slowly coaxing it to sleep. Dreadite reached for his belt, and pulled an Ultra Ball. "And now, tricky Onix, you are mine." The ball flew through the air, turning thrice on teh ground before the glow disapeared. The ball then teleported in a red flash, and Dreadite recalled his pokemon. He looked up towards the cave roof, and then with a flash of light, blew a fireball into it. Moonlight poured in, sending soft rays of luminesance throughout the cave. Dreadite flew out, and stepped towards his final destination. The Pokemon Tower. TBC? (Possibly, heh.. this was nothing like how I wanted it to be. ^^;;;) Dreadite ------ "And here comes the question whether it is better to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather than loved. It might perhaps be answered that we should wish both; but since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved." --Machiavelli's 'The Prince'.
