I've never seen this here before..." He walked to the counter with the gum. "Ah, the new Ditto gum!" the clerk said. "This stuff's pretty popular, and it's only been around for a few days. We had to order 5 extra shipments!..." "How much does the gum cost?" Dan asked, quite bored with the clerk's little story. "...What? Cost? Oh, yes, it's 99 cents." Dan handed the clerk a dollar and left the shop...with the gum, of course. --------------- Dan unwrapped a piece of the gum and laughed. The gum was pink, with a little Ditto face stamped on. He popped it into his mouth and handed another piece to Clefairy. Clefairy jumped happily and started chewing. After a minute, Dan suddenly stopped chewing. Something didn't seem right about the gum. He then spit out an unusually large gum blob onto the sidewalk. "Clefairy, did you see that?" Dan asked. "It...moved!" The face on the blob formed into a frown. "Yaahh! That's a real Ditto!" It was then that Dan noticed a notice on the gum wrapper. "Find a real Ditto in this pack and WIN!" "I think I just won the contest," Dan said, just before the Ditto latched onto Dan's face. ~~ "Mmph! Hllp! Clfrry!" Dan shouted from under the attacking Ditto. Clefairy watched and considered his move. Clefairy's normal attacks weren't strong enough to drive away the enraged Ditto. He had to turn to the very unpredictable Metronome. He began to wave his fingers...and then started to flop on the ground. The Splash attack. Clefairy got up and tried again. This time, he started to glow. Then, he released a huge bolt of electricity at Dan and the Ditto. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhh!" "Diiiiiiiiiiiitoooooooooooooooooooo!" ------------ "Uhhh..." Dan opened his eyes to find Clefairy string him in the face. "Did you have to use a Thunderbolt?" he asked. "Why not something a little less painful?" "Fairy..." ------- ~Celadon Pokemon Center Nurse Joy looked up from her desk to see Dan slowly walking through the door. "What happened to you?" she asked as Dan approached the desk. "My Clefairy here used a Thunderbolt on me to get rid of an attacking Pokemon," Dan replied. "Oh...well then, take this paralysis heal cream," Joy said, handing Dan a small jar. "This should relax your muscles and relieve the effects of the electricity. It's usually only used on Pokemon, but it should work on humans as well." Dan rubbed the cream on his arms and legs. "Wow, it's working alread...aahhh!!" he said, and dropped to the ground. Clefairy and Joy stared as Dan started glowing. "You thought you were rid of me," a voice echoed in Dan's head. "I'll show you..." Dan's glowing form changed shape, and became...a Clefairy! He attempted to speak, but all that came out was "Fairy!" "Who are you?" Dan thought to the strange voice. "I am the Ditto that you chewed up and spit out." "Stop this right now!" "Why? I'm having so much fun! Ahahahaha!" Dan-Clefairy glowed, and began to change again. Nurse Joy and Clefairy gasped when they saw Dan's new form. "Aaaaaahhhh!" Dan screamed when he saw what he was now. "This is even worse!" Ditto had turned Dan into....Nurse Joy! ----- "Change me back right now!" Dan-Joy said to the Ditto. "Why should I?" Dan-Joy turned to Clefairy. "If you don't change me back, I'll have this little guy hit me, and you, with the most powerful thing he can Metronome up." "All right, All right! But don't think this is over yet," Ditto said, and changed Dan back. ----- "I've heard of the possibilty of Ditto fusion, but I've never heard of it actually happening," Prof. Oak said on the phone. "Well, it's happened to me," Dan said. "It seems to be using its transfomation power to get revenge on me." "What did you do?" "...I chewed it up, thinking it was gum." "What?" "I found the winning pack of 'Ditto bubble gum,' the one with a real Ditto inside." "Really?" "Yeah. I'm going to send away for my prize now. Bye." "Goodbye." ------ Dan found a mailbox right outside the Pokecenter. He took out an envelope containing a letter and the gum wrapper, to prove it really was the winning pack.
