Outside the doors, Rilli wiped at her face, though it didn't help much. She was
sure her whole body will be perpetually sticky until she could get out of the
volcano into a bath. Even the occasional Bubble that floats from Horsea's mouth
evaporates almost as soon as it comes into existence. "Robert's taking a long
time..." she muttered to herself. She tried to peek through the heavy doors to
see what was going on, but couldn't get a good view from her place at the top of
the stairs.

Rilli tried fanning herself with her hand, but it didn't help much. Even Horsea
was beginning to look dried out. "That's it, I'm gonna go tell Robert to hurry
up." She recalled Horsea back to its pokéball, and walked up through the doors.
"Wow!" Robert turned his head at the exclamation behind him. Rilli stood
marveling at the steaming pool of lava just below the platform suspended high
over it. "What exactly is this place, Robert?" she asked as she walked up to
him. "And who's that guy with the funky hair?"
"Show a little respect!" Robert wagged his finger at his girlfriend. "That is
Blaine, the gym leader! I'm gonna battle him for a badge right here!"
Rilli looked around uncertainly at the surrounding lava. "It looks a little
dangerous..."
Robert shook his head. "It's all part of the challenge! A little lava's not
going to stop me from winning a Volcano Badge." He reached to his belt, where
the pokéballs are kept. "Now, for my first pokémon, I'll pick..."
