Now he is in Vermilion city, ready to earn another badge... Mike walked into the Pokemon Center and handed his pokeballs to Nurse Joy. He decided to call the PODA and ask them if they had anything for him to do. That's when he saw the poster: the poster for the Pokemon League Regional Championships. "If I earn all 8 badges, I can head to the Indigo Plateau and become a Pokemon Master! How hard can it be? I've already wasted Misty and Brock. The trainers competing there can't be much tougher!" Mike says to himself. "Your Pokemon are healed!" Nurse Joy says to Mike as she hands over the pokeballs. "Thank you, if you'll excuse me, I've got a Gym battle to face!" Mike says. Mike opened the doors of Vermilion Gym. "I am here to face Lt. Serge!" Mike shouts. "Ha! Another victom. A 3 on 3 battle, agreed?" Serge asks. "Agreed." Mike says. The two walked onto the stadium. "Go Voltorb!" Serge shouts. "My Pokemon should create quite a buzz. Beedrill, go!" Mike shouts. Beedrill and Voltorb stood on opposite sides of the stadium. "Voltorb! Sonic boom!" "Beedrill! Counter with Twinneedle now!" Mike shouts. Voltorb launched it's sonic boom, destroying a wall of the stadium, but missing Beedrill, who flew up and down straight at Voltorb using it's needles, and smashing them into Voltorb, fainting it. "Return, Voltorb. Electrabuzz go!" Serge shouts. "Return, Beedrill. Scyther, I choose you!" Mike shouts. Scyther and Electrabuzz were both ready to battle one another. "Scyther! Slash attack now!" Mike shouts. Scyther flew into Electrabuzz, constantly releasing slashes at Electrabuzz, who was quickly evading them. "Quick attack!" Mike ordered. Scyther flew very quickly around and over and under Electrabuzz, but still missing it. It too was very fast. "Hmmm, let's slow him down Scyther, and you know what I mean!" Mike shouts. Scyther landed. Suddenly, Scyther began to glow, and two more Scyther appeared! "You'll lose twice as fast against Scyther's double team, Serge!" Mike mocked. *Commercial brake* Announcer: Tired of sleepy Pokemon? *shows picture of Snorlax* Announcer: Well now the favorite flute of trainers is available! The pokeflute! *shows picture of pokeflute waking up Snorlax, and pokeball capturing it.* Announcer: Available in pokemarts everywhere. *And now back to the battle!* "Scyther! Give all the Scythers quick attack!" Mike shouts. All three Scythers attacked Electrabuzz at once, and they was too fast for it. Electrabuzz fainted faster then you can say, "Master." "Return, Electrabuzz. Your turn Raichu!" Serge shouts. "So you've chosen a Raichu. Return, Scyther. Go Kabuto!" Mike shouts. Kabuto lands onto the field in front of the large Raichu. "Raichu! Take it down with one hit! Thunderbolt!" Serge commands. Raichu fires it's powerful thunderbolt at Kabuto, and it didn't effect it. "Ha! Such a weak electric attack. Kabuto, absorb!" Mike shouts. Kabuto latches onto Raichu and starts draining it away until it faints. "Return, Raichu. You have won, so I present you with this thunderbadge!" Serge says, handing him the badge. Mike returned to the Pokemon Center and got his Pokemon in for a check up. He went over to the video phone, dialed the PODA and said, "Hi Tiki!
