From: Thatguyty <thatguyty@hotmail.com> Subject: [PW!] Lily Blooms Date: Tuesday, November 30, 1999 4:57 PM "LILY!" screamed her father from upstairs, "Get yer ass up here!" Lily was laying on a couch in her basement watching MTV. After a long week of school she was tired and just wanted to curl up in her sweats and relax. It sounded like her father was drunk again. She sat up and cracked her knuckles. She knew she might have to fight him again. At the top of the stairs she found her father wobbling with one hand on the counter and a vodka bottle in the other. "Lily... are you done yer homework?" asked her father, slurring his words. "Dad, it's Friday," said Lily, "I've got a full weekend to do my homework." "Damnit Lily," yelled her father, "You know yer a lousy kid! Go finish your damn homework." Lily rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Dad, gimme the bottle." Her father raised the bottle and smashed it against the counter. "Go do yer homework!" Lily took a step back and readied herself in a fighting position. Her father thrust forward with the bottle, narrowly missing Lily. He dropped the bottle and fumbled with his belt buckle. Funny, thought Lily, I was just watching the 'Falling Away From Me' video. Who woulda thought? After a few seconds of struggling with his belt, her father looked up and swung at her. She was pinned against a wall and had no where to duck. The fist hit her in her right eye. "That oughtta teach yer sorry ass," said her father, stepping back. Lily doubled over in pain. She felt her eye swell up. Lily ran to her room and threw herself on her bed crying. She heard her father stomp down the hall. She leaped off her bed and pushed her dresser in front of the door. Her father pounded on the door yelling profanities. Lily walked into her bathroom and looked at her eye. It was red and and swollen. Lily wiped the tears off her cheeks, smudging her makeup. She opened the cabinet mirrors door and grabbed a cracking cold pack. She cracked it and felt it chill. Tenderly, she held it to her eye. Back in her room, with her free hand Lily grabbed her backpack from her closet. She opened it's pink flap and studied the space she had to work with. She heard a glass bottle crash against her door, making her cringe. It was time to leave. She dug threw her dresser drawers removing her favorite clothes as she went. Back in her bathroom she packed her essentials. There were a few more things she needed if she was going to begin a Pokémon journey; a pokeball and a pokedex. She waited late into the night, often crying and remembering her dead mother. At about 2:00AM she pressed her ear against the door and heard her father passed out snoring. Fearing she would wake him, she climbed out of her window and navigated a tree branch to her fathers window. She could see the bed was empty. His room was full of garbage: beer bottles, empty pizza boxes, and old adult magazines. Lily walked over to a chest in a corner where she found what see was looking for. She carried the pokeball and pokedex back to her room. She plugged the pokedex into the back of her PC and erased all the data, reprogramming it to show herself as the owner. She emailed Prof Oak and asked him to create an account for her in his library service so she'd know her Pokemon were always safe. It was about 2:30AM now. Lily looked at herself in her mirror. Her eye was black and the other was almost as bad from lack of sleep. She shut off her lights and ripped off her clothes, flopping down on her bed nude, exhausted. At about 10:00AM the next morning, Lily rolled over and looked at her clock. She gasped and hoped her father would still be out of it. She listened at her door. Still like a Snorlax. She jumped into her shower and let the hot warm flow over her tired body for about 20 minutes before putting on her favorite shiny green tube top and blue short shorts. She did her makeup and got ready to leave. Finally, she wrote her father a note explaining herself. It read something like this, "*$#@ you $$$hole." Lily admired her room for what she figured would be the last time for a while. She picked up her pink backpack and hopped out her window onto a tree branch. She lowered herself down to the ground and walked off in the hot Saffron sun. -- ~Thatguyty Webmaster of "Tracking Mew" http://mew.upnetwork.com =) Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
