Subject: [PW!] Shard Vs. Jetstorm!

Cerulean City freaked Shard out. It wasn't the proximity to the dungeon where
Mewtwo was rumored to live. It wasn't the noise of the big city. It was
Misty, the Pokemon League equivalent of... Shard didn’t want to know of
ANYTHING remotely like Misty.
So he had come here. To compete for the legendary Kids WB! Badge. He didn't
care about the rules. He didn’t care that there were crime-fighters here
that made the Jennys seem like an even more minor annoyance than they were. He
just didn’t want to face the demon that lurked inside the Cerulean Gym.
Shard flung open the doors and stepped inside. "All righty, whoever's up for
it," said Shard, "I’ve come for the Kids WB! Badge!"
Much to Shard's surprise, Jetstorm hovered over to accept. "I’d be more than
happy to put you in your place," he laughed. "But you're not even FROM the
right CHANNEL! Beast Machines is on FOX!" protested Shard. "Channel or no
channel, I'm here. You wanna fight or not, squishy-boy?" snapped Jetstorm,
hovering over the arena impatiently. "You're on, tin man!" replied Shard.
"All right then," smiled Jetstorm, "let's get ready to rumble!"
"Let’s go! Scrapper, nail him!" shouted Shard. Before Shard could throw the
pokeball, however, a barrage of energy bolts rained down upon him. "What was
THAT for?" replied Shard, shocked, dodging between shots. "You said you wanted
a fight, and you're gonna GET ONE!" said Jetstorm arrogantly. Shard gritted
his teeth and reached for one of the Magnemites that he’d begun carrying when
the Lickitunglash XXL had become too much a burden. Fighting firepower with
firepower, he pulled the top magnet off and threw the mechanical pokemon at one
of the Aero-drones. It exploded, taking the drone with it.
Shard took advantage of the distraction and began running as fast as he could.
Compared to Jetstorm, however, it wasn’t very fast at all, and Shard soon
found himself cornered. "Don't you know," scolded the Vehicon, "that it's not
nice to break other kids' toys?" "Jetstorm, you've been one of my favorites,"
said Shard, "but I guess it's not mutual." Jetstorm at once assumed an air of
pride. "Well," he said, "I guess one should let one's fan club live, and you've
been an entertaining character yourself... very well," said Jetstorm, drifting
aside. "He likes me!" cheered Shard, pride suddenly rushing to his head like a
powerful hallucinogen. "He really likes me!"
"So," asked Shard, "do I get the badge?" This was the exact wrong thing to
ask. "No you don’t get the BADGE! You're lucky you got your life, and I'm
beginning to reconsider THAT!" shouted a very frustrated Jetstorm. "Er, I'm
sorry?" said Shard weakly, a few seconds before Jetstorm directed Shard towards
the door with some energy bolts.
Once Shard was gone, Jetstorm let out a sigh. "Why can't I ever be in a normal
fanfic?" he lamented.
Shard, meanwhile, took a look at the outside of the gym. "Not an official
badge? I risked my life for... Oooh, I feel so... AARGH!"
