In the last episode, Randy met Lisa, who helped him to train his pokemon. The story now continues outside Cerulean Gym. "Okay, Randy Just go to the reception desk, and ask the lady there about challenging the leader. I'll catch up with you later." said Lisa. "Where're you going?"asked Randy. "I have to get some things, but I'll be back by the time you're done. Bye!" Randy walked into the gym and went to the reception desk. "What can I do for you?" the reception lady askde. "Uh, I'd l-like to cha-challenge the gym leader." Randy stuttered. "Okay, Wait a moment." The lady left, and came back with Misty. "I thought it was your turn to accept challenges today!" whined Misty. "No, it's yours. Look at the calendar." the lady said. "I guess you're right." Misty turned to Randy. "Okay, kid, what's your name?" she asked "Randy." he replied. "Okay, Randy. Follow me." Randy followed Misty down a log hallway to what looked like an Olympoic-sise swimming pool. "We'll use three pokemon each, okay?" asked Misty. "Okay." said Randy. "Staryu, go!" "Hyah!" it shouted. "Go, magus!" said Randy. <<I suppose you want the Magus to defeat the starfish?>> the Magus asked. "Uh, yeah." "Staryu, water gun!" ordered Misty. The Magus used confusion, which confused Staryu. When it used water gun, the water shot straight up, and when it crashed down, the water knocked Staryu out. "Good job, Magus! Now return!" said Randy. <<Much obliged.>> The Magus was sucked back into his pokeball. "Goldeen, go!" shouted Misty. "Goldeen, goldeen...." it said. "Piccolo, electrify the water!" said Randy. Piccolo appeared in a cloud of smoke, and stuck his electrified katana into the water, which fried Goldeen. "The good ninja attacks before the opponent has a chance to respond." Piccolo said. "That's good advice, Piccolo, now return." "Hai." Piccolo walked next to Randy. "Cyrus, it's your turn." said Randy. "Okay." he said. "Starmie, go!" Misty called. "Coo!" it shouted. "Starmie, bubblebeam!" "Cyrus, screech!" ordered Randy. Cyrus made a sound similar to the scratching of fingernails on a chalkboard. Starmie was distracted by it, and the bubblebeam missed. "Cyrus! Pay day!" Cyrus threw about ten dollars in nickels at Starmie, which knocked it out. "Since you beat me, here's a cacadebadge." Misty gave Randy a teardrop shaped badge. "Thanks, Misty." said Randy. "I think you should pick up those nickels." Misty said. After getting the Magus to pick up his nickels, Randy went outside the gym, where Lisa was waiting. "How'd you do?" she asked. "I got this." Randy said, showing her his new badge. "Good job. Let's get our stuff from the hotel, and head to Vermillion City." "You're going with me?" "Yup. I need something from Vermillion. Anyways, you're kind of cute." "GAK-" Randy passed out. After waking up, Randy got his stuff, and headed to Vermillion, along with Cyrus, Piccolo, Trunks and Lisa. "Why'd you pass out like that?" asked Lisa. "I'm a little nervous around girls." Randy replied.
