Drake brought his tail around so that he could look into one of Spunky’s eyes and said "I know that you’re supposed to be a poison pin pokemon, but I’m not a poison pin cushion pokemon. Let go of my tail." The Nidoran’s eyes went wide and it made a surprised "Ni?" Drake then said to Sarah Jane "Worked better than a Stun Spore. He should be easy to detach." She was able to easily remove Spunky at this point. Once she had ahold of him, the young Nidoran looked at his trainer with wide eyes and asked "Ni do?" Sarah Jane had to suppress a smile before she answered "No, I don’t think so. But it’s probably best if you go play with the pokedoll right now." After being set down Spunky less energetically made his way back to the pokedoll. Damian commented "After the number of times that’s happened, you’d think that you would’ve developed some sort of calluses for that." Drake was about to make a response but was cut off. Dr. Eckert finally put the surprised expression on his face into words. "A talking Dragonite?" The Dragonite looked from the young trainer to the older gentleman. "Of course I can talk. Doesn’t it say in every pokedex that Dragonites are just as intelligent as humans? And the name’s Drake by the way." Dr. Eckert quickly recovered himself. "Yes, I do know about what’s written in the pokedex. I also know that there are several species of pokemon on record that have at least one member that speaks. I even heard Bill talk about a giant Dragonite that he encountered once, but I have never heard of a talking Dragonite before. Who taught you to speak?" "I taught myself." was Drake’s response. <TBC> Jeff Hauser* *Sig Sodl Seperately
