From: Ali Oceanmist <alioceanmist@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] Arrival in Viridian Forest Date: Sunday, December 05, 1999 10:00 AM Ali took a deep breath of the fresh air that lingered within the forest. It was once again another beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. Agiotoee, who continued to tag along behind, stared up at the cerulean ceiling that covered the earth this day like a mindless zombie. He couldn't keep his eyes off of it. Ali could, though. Her mind was on the road ahead, and how to get to Pewter City. As she walked, she glanced at the Town Map that Roaneas had given her before she departed her home for Pallet. She turned to look at the red lizard by her side. "We're almost through the Viridian Forest, Roaneas. It won't be too long, now!" She smiled as she said her words. Agiotoee blinked his almost pure black eyes, then glanced over at his trainer for a moment. "Meleon?" He stated, a little confusion in his voice. He obviously wasn't paying any attention to her. Ali let out a heavy sigh, then sweatdropped. "I said that we're almost out of the Viridian Forest! We're almost in Pewter City, where we can go and defeat the gym leader, whoever that might be." As she said those words, cawing was heard from above, and a bird fell from the sky and to the ground, landing with a loud "THUD!" Ali gasped as she watched the bird fall, then looked back up at the sky, seeing the figure of what looked like a bat-type creature flying away. It was a Golbat! It must have bitten whatever fell from the sky and poisoned it! "I must save that poor bird! It might be a Pidgey, or a Pidgeotto!" She exclaimed, then ran to the spot where the flying-type Pokémon landed, Agiotoee running as fast as possible behind her. She soon arrived to the site a few minutes later, after wandering through patched of tall grass and bushes. There, in a clearing ahead, was a Pidgeotto sitting there, almost lifeless, and bathed in the sunlight that peeked through the trees surrounding it. Ali's eyes turned soft and full of concern as she studied it for a moment. She then ran up to it, lifting up its head carefully and gently with both hands. She looked into its eyes and said, "Are you alright, little Pidgeotto? Do you need help?" The bird didn't respond, and its eyes remained shut. Tears filled Ali's eyes as she carefully placed the bird's head back down on the ground. Agiotoee stood on the sidelines, watching, him also about to cry. He tried to hold back tears, since he was supposed to be tough, he didn't need to deal with this all. Oh, it was so horrible to see the poor, helpless bird sit there like that, no life in it. *Is it dead?* He asked himself within his mind. *Will it be okay?* As he watched his trainer weep over the bird, he glanced up at the sky, no longer wanting to cry, but wanting revenge. He wanted to get revenge on that Golbat. He took one last look at his trainer, then nodded, turning and running toward Pewter City. About half an hour later, Agiotoee had finally caught up with the Golbat. But how could he get to it? He couldn't fly. Then why not he use an attack real fast that could go long distance. Yeah, that's what he would do! So then, he leapt into the air, spinning around, the flame that danced upon his tail soon creating many embers that flew at the Golbat. He used his Ember attack. As the Golbat flew, it glanced over its shoulder quickly, eyes widening at the embers flew at him at a great speed. He tried to speed up, but it was no use. Soon he was KFG, Kentucky Fried Golbat. But although he was charred, he still wasn't down. He growled a bit, shaking his head around, soon regaining his sense and glaring at the Charmeleon. He then flew down, hitting Agiotoee with his wing. Wing Attack is what he used. Agiotoee flew back, hitting a nearby tree, many apples falling around him. As he regained conciousness, he looked at the apples. Apples! That's what he would use to defeat the Golbat! He grinned out of the side of his mouth, then picked up a big, juicy, red apple, throwing it at the bat. Soon, he picked up many apples, throwing each one of them at the Golbat. The bat was being pelted so hard and so fast, he couldn't even fly because he was in so much pain. Soon, it fell to the ground, just as the Pidgeotto it attacked did, with a loud "THUD!" Agiotoee was victorious! Of course, the best part was, he had gained some experience, too. Agiotoee wandered down the path to the clearing where Ali was with a confident stride. Soon, his trainer ran out to greet him again, the Pidgeotto perched atop her shoulder, who looked like it hadn't even been attacked in the first place! "Agiotoee, where did you go? I was looking all over for you!" She scolded. Agiotoee looked down, drawing a picture in the dirt with one of his claws, shame on his face. "Aww, it's okay. Well, I found an Antidote in my backpack and used it to heal Pidgeotto!" Ali said, excitement in her voice. "He was so greatful for what I did, he decided to join our team! So, welcome Pidgeotto to the group!" Ali kneeled down so Agiotoee could greet the bird. The fire lizard stared at Pidgeotto for a moment, Pidgeotto stared back. Then, Agiotoee reached a paw out, patting the bird on the head and letting out a small, "Meeeleon!" He then smiled, letting Pidgeotto perch atop his head. Agiotoee had gained some experience, the Golbat had been defeated, and Ali had gotten a new friend. Whatever happened to them going to Pewter City, though? Well, that's something that we'll talk about another time!
