Misty had changed into her usual clothes (short jeans, yellow top, breeches) and she and Caleb had left her gym. " I don't get it, why did he leave everything except my Starmie?" Misty yelped. " I don't know yet, that's what I want to find out. Now, has anything odd happened recently? Like, new people moving in?" Caleb asked. " Well, I heard that some people had moved in, right up the top of Cerulean city, there was a big comotion about their house not having a basement," " That sounds like a good place to start," Caleb was concerned about this. If the thief was Charok then he had probably set this up. They would meet soon he expected. The new house was small, large enough for two, maybe three. Caleb strolled up to the door and knocked. The door opened very slightly and Caleb saw an eye in the light. " Excuse me," Began Caleb. He held up is Bounty Hunter permit/badge. " I'm with the Cerulean city police dept. I have authority to search this establishment. I won't however, I do want to ask some questions," " Ok, go ahead," Said a voice, Caleb noticed some purple hair as the speakers face crept into the light slightly. " Thankyou, Now; I gather you just moved here, where from exactly?" " That's easy, Celadon city," " Right, ok. My young friend here says you were very unhappy about your house not having a bsement...why?" " I uhh....like to keep wine, yes...wine," " Wine? Could we have a look at this?" " GARG! NO! Certainly not! Get away now!" He slammed the door. Caleb turned and walked away. " WHAT?! That's it? Can't you kick the door down or something?!" " That would be illegal, wouldn't want to break the law..." " GGGRRRR!" Caleb slept for the rest of the day. He let Doppel and Cubone play around. Caleb had a strange dream. He was running, into a cave. It was very dark in here, but he went in deeper, he could see people watching him. Down tunnels and ladders and swiming over rivers until he came to an island, a creature sat there, its long tail curled around its white, smooth body. It turned and looked at him, its icey stare froze him where he stood. Its eyes began to glow, dark red. It reached out to him, his partner Reed flew, up to the top of the cave. He looked old and dead, cuts oozed puss and blood, his head turned slightly, Reeds neck was broken. Caleb began to turn in his sleep. Cubone shuffled over to him. Reed flew down to Caleb and rubbed his face. " Why? Why did you let me die? I died for you Caleb! I DIED CALEB!" Caleb called out in his sleep; " NO! NO! I tried! I didn't!!" Cubone looked at Caleb, he tilted his head. He raised his bone and proded Caleb's arm. The Mewtwo turned and looked at Caleb, its eyes began to glow white. Reed floated away and began to burn, but no light entered the room. Mewtwo raised its hand at Caleb; " Caleb! Caleb! Caleb!" " Cubone! Cubone! Cuuubboooonne!" Caleb lept up, knocking Cubone flying backwards, summersaulting in mid air. " CuuuuUUUUUbbbOOOOnnnnEEE!!!!" It bounced across the floor. Caleb looked around, he was sweating and breathing hard, he looked around the room, Cubone was lying on the floor and Doppel was... On Misty's shoulder. MISTY? " What kind of dream did you have?" Asked Misty sarcastically. " You think you're funny, but your not," Caleb looked around the room. " What the hell are you doing here?" asked Caleb. He checked his alarm clock. " It's not even 3 am yet! Cubone, I told you not to let anyone in! and to wake me up at 2 am!" " Why?" asked Misty. " Look, I have a plan. I wasn't going to get you involved, but since you're here you can help," Once Caleb was dressed they crept through Cerulean city, back to the other house. Caleb climbed over the fence and opened the back door. Inside it was dark, but considering it was night this didn't surprise him. He opened the front door, where Misty, Cubone and Doppel were waiting. They moved around inside, it looked like a normal house. Except the carpet... Caleb picked it up and threw it away. " I thought you said this was illegal!" whispered Misty. " I have a feeling that won't matter in a minute..." Caleb saw a trap door under the carpet. After he opened this he gasped. He saw several people sleeping in what looked like a tunnel. There was digging equipment al over the floor, shovels, TNT, pickaxes, it was a right little digging party! The miners were Rockets! " Team Rocket, I might've known," " I thought you said Charok stole my Starmie!" Misty whispered. " Absoloutley right my girl," Came a vice from behind them. They turned around. Charok stood behind them, at his feet lay Doppel and Cubone unconscious. " Hullo Caleb!" Charok pulled out a pistol. " Charok, you seem remarkably pleased to see me, Charok. I thought you wanted me dead," " On the contrary, I want the pleasure of killing you myself," He fired the pistol but missed. The Rockets woke up. " AUGH!" Misty screamed. " Get somewhere safe!" yelled Caleb. He raised his pistol, but Charok was shooting at him, and he ducked behind a sofa. A rocket jumped over, and raised his shovel, high, then prepared to strike. Caleb rolled upwards and fired at the Rocket. The shot hit him in the chest and he fell backwards, dead. Cubone began to stir. Caleb lept up and fired at Charok, the first shot missed, but the second one grazed his arm. " DAMN!" He clutched his arm, but didn't drop his gun. The Rockets filed out, with shotguns and pistols, one had twin Uzis. Caleb lept up shooting. He ran to the stairs as the Rockets scatered. He jumped to the top and began to reload. This was bad! He didn't have enough ammo to kill all the Rockets! They ran up the stairs, but Caleb was ready. He shot each one in turn. They fell back down the stairs, knocking others with them. He needed to reload, looking about the rom he saw a closet he could duck behind. As he did so te Uzi man climbed up the stairs, Guns blazing. He stopped when he saw Caleb wasn't here. Caleb stepped out from behind the closet, only to realize the Uzi guy was closer than he thought. His first shot mised, even at this range. Uzi guy fired Caleb dropped down and slammed his gun into the Rockets stomach. He threw the Rocket over his back and into the wall. He span around and fired a shot and his victim, the rocket was dead before he hit the ground. Calbe took the Uzis and made his way downstiars. Charok was waiting. The rockets were all behind him. He had Misty, with a gun to her head. " One move and she'll have nothing above the neck, except memories," " You won't kill her," " I always keep my promises, Caleb, you should know that. Remember what happened to Reed?" Cubone was fully awake, he held Doppel. Caleb nodded at Misty. " Are you ok?" " OF COURSE NOT!". Caleb remained calm; " When I say, jump out of the window, got it? Just run and jump," " Oh please, it's so pathetic. You and your little plans. She's going to die Caleb, you wont be able to save her, any better than you saved Reed, In fact, I think I'll kill her now," He cocked his pistol. " CUBONE!" Caleb yelled. Cubone threw his bone, boomarang style. It hit Charok on the head. He let go of Misty. " KILL THEM!" Charok yelled as he escabed through the back door. Misty ran to the window and was grabbed by a Rocket. Caleb fired at the barrels of TNT, as Cubone lept into his arms. Misty elbowed the Rocket, who let go. The rockets yelled and ran as Caleb and Misty lept through the window. Whilst this happened Caleb's shot had struck the barrels, which blew up. The explosion carried Caleb and Misty for about 5 feet. The fireball was seen all across the city. Bits of burning wood fell about them as they rolled across the road. Misty coughed; " I thought you were worried about breaking the law! That can't have been legal!" " That, Misty, was only self defense..."
