Shock threw the Pokeball into the arena, and his last Pokemon popped out of the ball. It was Nidorina, a poison type Pokemon that would evolve into a duel type poison and ground Pokemon. Shock hoped that its ground type abilities would show up in the Nidorina stage of its development, therefor giving him the advantage in the battle, since ground types were strong against electric types. Shock called out the first attack. "Nidorina, bite it, now!" He watched as Nidorina ran as fast as it could up to the Raichu and took a big bite out of its skin. The Raichu cried out in pain, as Lt. Surge grew angry. "Raichu, let's make this a quick fight. Mega Punch, now!" Raichu stopped crying over its wound, and wound up a big punch, and threw its fist, with all its might, straight at the poison Pokemon. Nidorina flew back a few feet and hit the ground, hard. "Nidorina!" Shock cried out, "You can do it! Get up!" At it's trainers persistant urgings, Nidorina painfully got to its feet and waited for its trainers command. "Nidorina, poison sting!" Shock cried out. Nidorina ran up to the electric mouse and rammed its horn deep into the Raichu's soft flesh. It then let the poison contained in its horn to seep into the Raichu's body, poisoning it. The battle continued on for a while, with Nidorina and Raichu struggling not to faint, barely managing. Even though Raichu was at a slightly higher level than Nidorina, the fact that it had been poisoned gave Nidorina a slight advantage. After several more blows taking place, the poison finally took full effect on Raichu, and he fainted. Shock had won this battle. Lt. Surge recalled Raichu into its Pokeball, as Shock did the same to Nidorina. "Well, Shock," Lt. Surge said eventuallly, "You defeated me. You have earned the thunder badge." Lt. Surge reached into his pocket, and pulled out a Thunder Badge, and handed it over to Shock. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go. There is this movie that I am starring in, and I want to be on time for my loyal fans!" With that, Shock was left alone in the gym. -------------- Shock walked outside along the streets of Vermillion, preparing to say goodbye to his hometown. He passed the place where Lt. Surge's movie was being filmed, and had to jump out of the way when a red-haired lady with something dangerous looking in her pocket passed him. That red-haired lady was walking with a purple-haired girl, who didn't look like she belonged with that dangeroous looking lady. He then continued on. He knew that he would not be getting another badge before Christmas, but he hoped to at least make it to Celedon City, which was halfway to the next location of the two remaining badges that he needed, the Soul Badge and the Volcano badge. Shock soon left the city limits of Vermillion, and in a few days, he would be arriving in Celedon City. TBC......? -- AIM: ncnc123 Computer crashed.
