The Pidgeot whose saddle Robert is strapped into dips closer to the ground below, causing Robert to shriek for the thirty-second time on his airborne trip to Celadon City. Robert closes his eyes and tries to forget his fear of heights. It's been a particularly rough trip for Robert since it is night time, the ground can't be seen, and Mithril-rama isn't flying with him. "Ha-ha!" A female voice that Robert doesn't recognize chuckles, "Scared of heights? Don't worry, we're almost at Celadon!" Robert, still hugging onto his Pidgeot for dear life, opens one eye to see who was speaking. On the Pidgeot soaring directly to his right sits a beautiful girl who looks about his age, who has long brown hair and crystal blue eyes. She is dressed in a long-sleeved green shirt, red pants, and brown boots. A warm, fuzzy red scarf is tied around her neck. Robert opens both eyes and smiles while trembling, "H-h-hello. Why are you wearing a scarf? It's not like it's Winter or anything..." "Uh, *hello*?" The girl curls her lip upwards in a sarcastic smirk, "Are you living under a Geodude? Winter started just the other day, kid! Don't you even watch the news? They say it's going to be a white Christmas in Celadon tomorrow..." Robert smiles, thinking how nice a white Christmas would be... Wait a minute. Christmas? Robert sits up on the saddle on his Pidgeot, temporarily forgetting his fear of heights, and shouts, "Tomorrow?!" The Pidgeot that Robert is riding on fidgets a bit at the noise, not used to such loud passangers, but stays on course as it is trained to. Robert shakes his head, "That can't be! Halloween was just the other day... Uh oh. Maybe I was unconscious in the Viridian Gym longer than I thought..." "Ha-ha!" The girl chuckles again, "Hey, don't take my word for it, kid, look down there..." She points downward. Robert looks down to see Celadon City, coated by a layer of pure white snow. Small blinking lights of different colors are placed on all the buildings and street lights. A giant bright white ball is hanging from the roof of a tall building in Celadon City. A giant decorated Christmas tree can be seen from the sky, and Robert can almost smell the pine scent. The one thing that catches Robert's attention the most of all these lights and decorations is the "Open 24 Hours" sign on the Celadon City Mega-Pokemart. Robert sweatdrops and says, "I have to get a Christmas present for Rilli!" "Who's Rilli?" The girl on the Pidgeot next to Robert shifts in her saddle without fear of falling, "Oh yeah, and who're you?" "My name's Robert and Rilli is my girlfriend." Robert tries to find a particular building in Celadon City from the sky above, "She's waiting for me at the Pokemon Center... Oh, I have to get there tonight! She can't be alone on Christmas Eve!" "I didn't ask for your life story, Robert." The girl smirks and offers one hand for a handshake while holding on to her saddle with the other, "My name's Brooke! I'm a Pokemon Breeder who specializes in Water and Ice Pokemon, especially Lapras." Robert looks at her and shakes his head, "If I shook your hand, I'd poop my pants. I'm a little scared of hei-AHHHHH!" The Pidgeot Robert is riding descends to the Pidgeot Express building in Celadon City without warning. Brooke's does to, but instead of screaming, she laughs out loud and rides it like a Rapidash, cheering, "Yeeee-haw! I'm the Queen of the World!" When the Pidgeot land in the runway, Pidgeot Express workers come to cover them with blankets to protect them from the snow, because it hurts them since they are Flying Pokemon. Robert hops off and starts running, shouting as he does, "I have to get to the Center before midnight! Bye, Brooke, it was nice talking to you..." Brooke shouts back to Robert as he leaves the Pidgeot Express landing grounds, "Same to you, buddy! Some kids just don't know how to properly say goodbye to a lady..." She kicks the ground, tosses her scarf, and heads into the airport.
