Subject: [PW!][LEAGUE] Lance vs. Jennifer (dun dun, dun dun dun dun.)

"Duuun... dun dun DUN, dun dun, DUN dun dun, Duuuun..."
"Welcooome... to another battle on the Water Field!" greeted the
announcer. Today's feature battle: The green trainer, head of the 'Elite 4',
and a Pokemon League favorite, Lance is going to face newcomer Jennifer, the
red trainer! The battle is just about to begin!"
The cold waters of the Water Field splashed up against the edges. The
three platforms in the middle seemed dangerously unsteady. Jennifer gulped.
Lance was still deciding which Pokemon of his to choose.
"Gyarados, don't fail me now... Go!" Lance threw the Pokeball down into
the water. The huge dragon-snake-monster burst out of the water, splashing
everyone in the arena.
"Pbbbt... Pfffft..." Jennifer shook herself off. This wasn't going to
be easy. She hesitated and took a Pokeball out of her knapsack. "Vileplume,
go!"
"GRAAAAAR!" Gyarados roared as it was released, causing the whole
audience to practically jump. Vileplume, as soon as it entered the fight,
cowered down in fear. The flag guy raised the two flags, and dropped them.
"Let the battle begin."
"Gyarados, slam it with Dragon Rage before it gets a chance," ordered Lance.
Gyarados dove into the water and began to swim faster and faster around in a
small circle, forming a watery cyclone. Vileplume was still awaiting commands,
since Jennifer was too nervous to notice.
"Urgh... auugh..." whimpered Jennifer. "Vileplume... try to run away or hide
behind something!" Vileplume rolled its eyes and began to charge a Solarbeam.
The twister was becoming stronger and stronger. Gyarados ended abruptly,
releasing the cyclone, which reached up high into the sky. It spun wildly
around the arena, practically flooding the audience as well.
"Vileplume is in trouble!" shouted the announcer. "If Vileplume can't get
away, this match is over!"
Vileplume stood alone on the center platform, trying to not get lifted away
and torn apart. The sun, which was beaming down on Vileplume, became clouded
by Dragon Rage. Vileplume winced and blindly shot out Solarbeam at the
tornado. Gyarados, waiting behind its Dragon Rage, was hit hard after
Solarbeam pushed through the twister. Just moments after, while Gyarados was
recovering, its own Dragon Rage retreated backwards and hit it. Gyarados was
battered by it, and soon collapsed into the water.
"Wow!" the announcer shouted again. "Vileplume's Solarbeam managed to push
through Dragon Rage, both crashing into it and causing heavy damage to Lance's
Gyarados." Jennifer was dumbfounded. Gyarados lay floating in the water, down
for the count, and she could barely speak.
"Augh... Vileplume, try a Petal Dance, but don't get too close!" she managed
to yell out. Lance gritted his teeth, also in disbelief.
"Come on... get up already... you can't just lose to that pathetic flower!"
"Viiile pluuuume!" With Jennifer's command, Vileplume began to dance, causing
petals to soar into the sky in a flurry. They scattered rapidly throughout the
arena, cutting and hitting Gyarados from all sides. Gyarados let out one last
moan and fainted.
"This match goes to the red trainer, Jennifer!" said the flag guy. A bar on
Lance's side blipped out.
