From: Anonymous <anakin0327@aol.com> Subject: [PW!] On The Road To Viridian City (via Diglett's Cave) Date: Monday, December 20, 1999 11:55 PM Last time, Mac and Forest decided to head to Viridian City through Diglett's Cave........ so they're gonna. ------------ <<Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?>> "No, no, no, and NO!!!" yelled Mac, "We're not there yet!" <<Are we there yet?>> Space imitated Porygon, much in the way that a child imitates its parent. "Oh that's just great, now look what you've done!" <<*sniff* I'm so proud...>> Before Mac could unleash his full fury on Porygon, Forest spoke up. "There's Diglett's Cave up ahead." --- The tunnel was long, dark, and pretty creepy. Mac and Forest had trouble navigating the twists, turns, and bumpy floors of the cave. Suddenly, a Diglett popped up from under Mac. Since mass increases with velocity, the 186,000 mps Diglett knocked him across the room. "Diglett?" The Pokémon looked at the sprawled-out figure with curiousness. After seeing that it was harmless, Diglett approached Mac, eager to study the creature more closely. Mac was not too thrilled about the encounter. "Uh, get away! Shoo!" To make his point, Mac started to wave his hands frantically, trying to shoo the Diglett away. Diglett merely smiled, enjoying the game that it was being introduced to. "What's wrong, Mac?" asked Forest, amused by the spectacle. "Diglett isn't gonna hurt you..." "That's right it won't! I'm not gonna let it!" Mac then assumed the stance of a trainer. "Porygon, I choose you!" <<Excuse me? This isn't part of the contract!>> "Shut up and do what I say! Go get rid of the stupid thing!" Porygon stood still for a moment. <<Okay then, Mister Pokémon Master: which attack should I use first?>> Mac sweatdropped. "Well, I really don't know anything about this sort of thing... What attacks do you have?" <<Tackle, Conversion, and Sharpen.>> "Okay, Sharpen!" Porygon charged at the Diglett... then used its Sharpen attack, intensifying its strength. However, nothing visible occured at all, except for Forest smirking. Diglett, suddenly realizing that it was being "attacked," decided to play along. Not wanting to embarrass the new trainer, Diglett started with its Scratch attack... ...knocking Porygon into the far wall, fainted. Diglett blinked for a moment, then reveled in its strange victory. "Diglett! Diglett dig!" "Well that's just great, now how do I get rid of it?" "Well, you could try to capture it," suggested Forest. "I'm no Pokémon trainer. You saw what happened. How responsible could I be with a Pokémon?" Mac turned to the Diglett. "Well, uh, Mr. Diglett, it was a pleasure meeting you, but we've got to get to Viridian City..." He then grabbed Porygon's tail and dragged him towards his destination, Forest and Space at his side. "To tell you the truth, Forest, Diglett give me the creeps for some reason..." The Diglett stopped to consider the situation, then decided to follow its new friend to wherever it was going. It didn't understand anything the human had said, but it figured the main gist of things: the human wanted Diglett to follow it as his companion. Diglett silently cheered at its natural talent for English, and set out to do what the human had said, but opted to keep a low profile. That way, the human would have a nice surprise when it popped out from nowhere. Yes, thought Diglett as it pursued Mac, that would be just what the human wanted... ------------ TBC -Anonymous (you know, the guy who wrote all the poems) -=-=-=-=-
