Gads looked over his shoulder to make sure Monk-chan was still
nearby, then approached the desk.
"Name?"
"Gads Trisan"
"ID?"
Gads pulled out his Pokedex, which the attendant quickly scanned.
The Pokedex's Identification information filled the screen.
"Hmmm... you don't appear to be the boy in the picture."
Gads scowled as he was once again reminded of Bill. "Old
picture..."
"Well... ok. Badges?"
"Two."
"Ok... 0-3. All right, prepare to see what course you'll be on
first."
Gads watched as a button came out from the desk. After watching
for a few moments, Gads shrugged and hit a button. It stopped on the
Water Field.
"Water Field..." Gads quickly looked over and yaked out a pamplet
from the counter. After leafing through it for a moment, he found what
he wanted.
Water Field: A series of small platforms floating in a massive
pool. Pokemon of the Water, Flying, and Dragon types have the biggest
advantage here, while Rock, Ground, and Fire Pokemon don't fare well in
the watery arena.
"Not good... let's see, Monk-chan should be able to handle the
platforms... Dow or Vinal don't even have to move to fight... Gnawer can
swim, but nowhere near as well as a Water-Type... A-Bomb and Sketch
though..." Gads sighed. The explosive Electrode would short-circut if
it rolled into the water, and Sketch still wouldn't fight. It'd just
sit there, look cute, and draw. "Maybe I should take a chance and
switch Sketch for Ringer..."
Mara came up behind Gads. "I found out who you're opponent is.
Some guy named Mike."
"All right... guess I need to get ready for the water field."
