Sorry for the corny title.
Narrator: (This is a new narrator, who sounds disgustingly perky.) Hi everyone!
I'm your new narrator! The nasty old stinky narrator quit after being attacked
by a Rattata, and that's why you haven't seen anything of Mandy and Ron for the
past two weeks! Isn't that so wonderful and Oh So Very Special? (Sound of
people throwing up.) Mandy and Ron have already passed through Pallet Town,
where they got Pokedexes, and Viridian City. Now they're about to have a
wonderful, happy, special adventure in the forest!
Mandy winces from her position on Ember's back. "There's got to be a way to
get rid of that stupid new narrator." Ron, recovering from his prolonged vomit
said nothing and just grimaced.
"I heard it was a requirement that all trainers have at least one narrator,"
said Ember in Pokespeak. Mandy translated for Ron.
"No, just something some people prefer," Ron said, getting on his new-used
bike. He'd bought it from a boy in Viridian, saying it would be easier to keep
up with Ember that way. He started peddling, Ember keeping alongside at an easy
lope. Amaranth squeaked in surprise as she was jarred out of her nap.
The four followed the path for a little way, until they came to a bug catcher.
"I like bugs. Do you like bugs?"
Mandy groaned and halted Ember. "You bet!" she replied, throwing the bug
catcher off, "Let's battle!"
"Hey, that's my line! Caterpie, go!"
Mandy dismounted and yelled, "Ember, go!"
The two faced on the field. "Catepie, tackle!" The caterpie threw itself at
Ember, surprising her and knocking her off balance.
"Ember, firespin!" A spinning flame wall surounded the bug.
"Caterpie, return." The hapless bug was sucked back into the ball. "You win.
Caterpie can't cut it!" The bug catcher handed over a few bills and scuttled
off.
"That was great, but let me get the next one," Ron said. Mandy grinned.
"Fine with me. Let's go."
By this time it had become dark, so they found a clearing by a pond. Ron
released Flipper into the water, and Hurricane happily splashed circles around
him. Amaranth sipped at the water quietly while Ember looked on. Mandy pitched
a tent while Ron swam with Flipper and Hurricane. As they wound down and went
to sleep, they all failed to notice the dark forms lurking in the brush.
Narrator: So what are those lovely dark shapes? What will happen to our heros
as they continue their trek? When will (sound of author hitting the irritating
narrator with frying pan).
