Dragonite looked back at Lance, a perplexed expression on his face. “Dra?” “Take your pick, it won’t make any difference.” Lance commanded. Dragonite chose to attack the smaller Sandslash, as he remembered the human Trent was far more peaceful and wouldn’t defend himself. It fired an Ice Beam at the hedgehog, severely weakening him. Sandslash was frozen, completely immobile. Trent ran to him. “Sandslash! Are you alright?!” yelled Trent, holding the frozen Sandslash. “Sssssssand...” Sandslash whispered, taking great effort to speak. Dragonite looked at the worried trainer and his Pokemon. “Dragonite, you can finish them off at once with a blizzard. Just hurry it up, I want to watch the match.” Lance ordered from behind him. Before Dragonite could attack, Trent rammed him with all his strength. Dragonite flew back, taking Lance along with him. They both crashed through the window of Lance’s private box, shattered glass flying everywhere. Dragonite managed to fly back inside almost as soon as he fell out, but Lance wasn’t so lucky- he fell into the stands, landing on at least three people. Trent and Dragonite looked down, horrified. Soon Nori joined them, shocked at what she saw. She gave Trent a surprised look. “You... you...” “I didn’t mean to! I swear! I couldn’t just let Dragonite hurt my buddy like that!” Tears ran down Trent’s eyes, not only from seeing Lance dead, but because he killed him. Silently he sucked Sandslash back into a Pokeball. He slowly staggered toward the door, still facing Nori. “I never wanted to kill anyone! Especially not Lance... I... I... I...” before he could finish he ran out the box and down the hall. TBC (Well, Beth, it’s up to you. Did Lance miraculously survive having a Dragonite shove him through glass and a fall down to the stands, or was he killed?)
