From: Zagro <zagro@att.net> Subject: [PW!] [LEAGUE] Water Field: Zagro vs. Andrew Date: Monday, December 13, 1999 1:16 PM The crowd began to cheer as the two contestants of the next Water Field battle took their places on the respective platforms, Andrew wearing a Sketch "Don't Mess With The Puff" shirt, and Zagro wondering who the Jigglypuff on the front was. The first announcer began. "Welcome Pokefans to another exciting battle on the Water Field! This match-up appears to be quite an interesting one!" A pause, and another voice comes over the megaphone. "Uh... why?" "Huh? Because... uh... they all are! That's why! Anyway, on the Green platform we have Andrew O'Reilly from the town of Pallet! You may have seen him win in his previous battle with some guy named Joey on the Ice Field!" "Yeah, and on the Red platform we have Zagro Petix from Veridian. His last battle was on the Grass Field, with Mikey the Eevee trainer." The mikes clicked off, and the referee stood up. "Let the match begin!" The two trainers reached for their Pokeballs. Zagro started first. "Goddish, I choose you!" Clouds of smoke emanated from the Pokeball, then mysterious lights speared through the fog. A small shape was silhouetted in the light. "Mortals, fear Me, for if thee dost not, thou shalt surely perish. I am Goddish." Zagro grinned nervously and looked as though he wanted to be elsewhere. The spectators and Andrew were not overly intimidated, and Andrew tossed his Pokeball. "Fire beats grass, so... Blaze, go! Fry this nut!" Blaze jumped to the island containing Goddish, and shook it's fur. Embers flew around, hitting some of the remaining smoke, which set ablaze. Goddish, taken by surprise, darted from the inferno and into the water. Blaze followed, and as Goddish popped back up, he was caught in Blaze's jaws. Blaze shook him a couple times, and threw him back into the water, where he lay motionless. "Goddish is unable to battle! Blaze wins the round!" Zagro sighed. "Goddish, return. Omni, go!" The Pikachu appeared and launched into a fighting stance, staring down Blaze. Blaze leaped at him, and Omni darted out of the way. It's cheeks lit up, and waves of electric energy, paralyzing Blaze. "It looks like Omni has delivered a devastating Thunder Wave attack! Blaze is left helpless, but can Omni finish him off before he recovers?" Omni ran over to Blaze and pushed him into the water. Drenching his wounds helped to heal the paralyzation, but also attacked at the heat built up in Blaze. Omni leaped back and shot a shock of electricity into the water. Blaze was fried. "Blaze is unable to battle! Victory goes to Omni!" Andrew recalled his Growlithe, and reached for another Pokeball. "David, I choose you!"
