"Why are you here, Doom?" Lisa asked. "I wanted to see how the people in this world celebrate the coming of the new year." he replied. "Whadda ya mean, 'this world?'" "I am not from this world." "So you're an alien?" "No, Doom comes from another dimension." "How'd you get here?" Randy asked. "In my lab, I was doing research on a video game." "Which one?" "Pocket Monsters." "Huh?" "In my efforts to rule my world, I was researching a game that had enthralled the children there." "So, these 'Pocket Monsters' were doing this?" "Yes, I was attempting to discover what makes them so popular." "So..." "So, I had discovered what made it so popular, and I made a plan." "What was it?" "To gain the favor of the children of my world, I would make these monsters real." "Why'd you want to do that?" "If I gained their favor, then I could recruit them into my army, and overpower the aduilts." "Good plan." "What happened?" "Well, when I built the machine to transport these creatures, 'Pokémon' if you will, it backfired." "So there's a pokémon video game in your world?" "Yes. When it backfired, it didn't send the pokémon into my world, it transported me into theirs." "Wow. So you're saying that this's a video game?" "It might be, or my world's a comic book." "What?" "Haven't you read the Marvel Comics?" "My brother has a collection of them." "Well, in many of them, I have seen the visage of Doom." "Dang." "So, I will use the pokémon that I have caught, and gain a lot of money, so I can rebuild the machine that sent me here, and buy these magazines, to find out the plans of my enemies." "Why did you want to see me?" "Well, I was at the Indigo Plateau, and saw this." Doom gave Randy a hat with a Jigglypuff on it, which said "Sketch 2000!" "Uh, thanks." "Also, here." Doom gave Randy another TM, the same as the one he gave Randy when he first lost to him. "What's this?" "It's another technical machine, in case you need to teach another of your pokemon this powerful technique." "Why are you giving me this stuff?" "Sore wa, himitsu desu." "Okay, I'm tired, and gotta get to sleep. Bye." Randy and Lisa walked back to their hotel room. Inside, Piccolo and Cyrus were watching the news, while Trunks was sleepibng. "The outskirts of town, five trainers have disappeared while trying to capture a mysterious pokémon, who is only known as 'Majuu Yakon.'" a reporter said. "Wow. That must be dangerous." Randy said. "Yup." Lisa replied. "Well, I'm going to sleep, see you in the morning." "Okay." Randy climbed in the bed and fell asleep.
