Jason Cassidy & Sai Meilan
Weight: 167 lbs.
Place of Birth: Violet City, Johto
Date of Birth: December 22 (Capricorn)
Blood Type: A+
Appearance: Jason is a tall, nondescript man in his late teens with black hair
and brown eyes. He usually wears black pants, black boots, a silvery-white
turtleneck shirt, and a black jacket. His most distinguishing feature is a scar
on his left cheek. He keeps his Poké Balls on his belt, and the rest of his
gear in a black leather backpack.
Personality: Jason is a cold, callous individual who believes that nothing is
above him and that he is superior to all others. He cares little for the
concerns of other people and for their wants and needs. He prefers to be alone,
and to shy away from companionship, believing that he does not need it. Despite
this, however, he is beginning to show interest in others (particularly when in
his own best interest).
History: Jason began his Pokémon journey at the age of twelve, setting out from
Violet City with only an Umbreon for company. Shortly afterwards, Jason
encountered the legendary Entei. His battle with the legendary beast of flame
left him with his distinctive scar and an obsession. From that day forward,
Jason promised himself that he would capture every legendary Pokémon in the
world, from the Legendary Birds of Johto and Kanto to Mewtwo himself. He has
exclusively captured male Dark-type Pokémon specifically for that purpose, but
has so far found no luck.
Recently, Jason gained an active interest in the Shiny Unown Hunt, and went so
far as to go toe-to-toe with Lynkeru and Mamuro/Yuki twice in order to capture
shiny Unown. Thus far, his efforts have met with little success. However, Jason
has recently entered into an uneasy partnership with a Duskull calling herself
Sai Meilan, one who is capable of detecting Shiny Unown. Jason, a preferred
loner, is not happy about the arrangement.
Hobbies: Jason has no hobbies. Period.
Pet Peeves: Jason cares little for anything, and generally loathes most
individuals and their petty concerns.
Abilities: Jason cares little for physical exercise, but can run very swiftly
when he needs to. He also has some understanding of mechanics and heavy vehicle
operations, and can easily operate an Orre Region-built hovercycle.
Weapons: Jason carries no weapons.
Weaknesses: Jason's entire philosophy and way of living is a weakness unto
itself, one that may well cost him his life...
Vincent Cassidy (Brother)
Occupation: Pokémon Trainer
Allies on Journey: Sai Meilan is an unwanted ally.
Enemies on Journey: Lynkeru and Mamuro/Yuki both have reason to kick Jason's
butt, as does Alex Masters.
Current Badges: Eight (Zephyr, Hive, Plain, Fog, Storm, Mineral, Glacier,
Current Pokémon: Twelve
Umbreon: A gentle and sweet Pokémon, Umbreon remembers the days when Jason was
kind and good. Though naturally cheerful, Umbreon is saddened that Jason
slipped into the state he's in now, and wishes that he could somehow bring him
Attacks: Pursuit, Confuse Ray, Faint Attack, Moonlight
Murkrow: Murkrow is mischievous, and enjoys playing practical jokes on Jason's
other Pokémon. Jason doesn't really care enough to stop him, viewing it as
Attacks: Pursuit, Haze, Night Shade, Fly
Sneasel: Sneasel is amorous, and also views himself as an artist. When he finds
a chunk of ice, Sneasel usually carves it into some aesthetically-pleasing
shape, usually a snowflake or woman in evening wear. While others delight in
his talents, Jason himself isn't that impressed by them.
Attacks: Cut, Metal Claw, Beat Up, Agility
Tyranitar: Tyranitar is a brute, pure and simple. It isn't beneath him to
attack and possibly kill a human being, but he often gets in over his head.
Jason does absolutely nothing to hold him back, however.
Attacks: Crunch, Strength, Sandstorm, Hyper Beam
Shiftry: Shiftry is naturally inquisitive, and enjoys taking close looks at
things such as small insects or blades of grass. He's also amused by little
trinkets and pieces of technology such as wristwatches, and occasionally takes
them apart to examine them more closely, and can often reassemble them easily.
Jason isn't really amused or impressed by this.
Attacks: Extrasensory, Razor Wind, Torment, Synthesis
Sableye: An intelligent, intellectual sort, Sableye enjoys expanding his mind.
Unlike others of his kind, Sableye is hardly malicious, and is in fact quite
presentable. He doesn't enjoy violence, preferring not to fight at all.
Occasionally he plays chess using improvised pieces made of rocks with Shiftry,
and unlike his trainer has come to enjoy the presence of Sai Meilan.
Attacks: Flash, Knock Off, Confuse Ray, Shadow Ball
Sharpedo: A ravenous beast, Sharpedo enjoys tearing through water and his
opponents, whether or not he has a weakness to them. Mostly because of this, he
can't stop himself from tearing into his opponents before they can
Attacks: Surf, Waterfall, Dive, Crunch
Cacturne: Cacturne is, to put it bluntly, insane. He babbles to himself and
whips his Needle Arms around wildly in battle, no matter what his opponent.
Mostly due to this, he's endured a great many burns and ice hits over the
Attacks: Sandstorm, Pin Missile, Faint Attack, Needle Arm
Crawdaunt: Crawdaunt enjoys swimming, and is actually quite lazy and laid-back.
He'll battle if he has to, but prefers to stay out of the battle arena.
Attacks: Knock Off, Guillotine, Bubblebeam, Swords Dance
Absol: Absol is a neat-freak; very prim and proper, he tries his best to keep
himself clean and tidy. Despite this, however, he's a capable fighter and an
Attacks: Future Sight, Slash, Bite, Double Team
Mightyena: Mightyena is an aggressive brute who enjoys tearing through his
opponents, not to mention has a habit of remembering his vendettas. He
particularly enjoys picking on low-level Pokémon.
Attacks: Bite, Odor Sleuth, Howl, Tackle
Houndoom: A blindly obedient pup, Houndoom often simply follows the lead of
Mightyena, who he considers to be the Alpha Dog of the team. He isn't stupid;
just very dependant.
Attacks: Bite, Ember, Roar, Smog
Goals: Jason plans to one day capture all known Legendary Pokémon, no matter
Additional Notes: Jason recently stole an imported hovercycle from a Team Magma
Age: (Before death) 20 (Including time dead) 1,020
Height: (Current) 1'4"
Weight: (Current) Unknown
Place of Birth: A far away region...
Date of Birth: She'd never tell.
Appearance: Meilan is a Duskull, a Ghost-type Pokémon native to the Hoenn
Personality: Meilan is a dedicated individual of great intelligence and wisdom,
with great strategic skill and bravery. She generally is peaceful, and does not
seek out enemies, preferring the company of allies when and where she can find
them. However, due to her long period of, well, being dead, she is a bit cranky
on many occasions.
History: Sai Meilan, in life, was a young disciple of the Shaolin Temple, a
legendary school of martial arts established in ancient China centuries ago. As
part of the final stage of her training, Meilan was sent forth into the world
to learn, explore, and test her formidable fighting abilities. However, on her
way through what is now known as Hoenn, she became wrapped up in that era's
Shiny Unown hunt. In the end, she was killed by a rival. However, due to her
great spiritual strength and determination, Meilan was restored to life as a
Dusclops, allowing her some semblance of life and a chance at resurrection.
Should she herself collect the 26 Shiny Unown and win the prize, she will have
a chance at life again, something she most desperately wants.
After six hundred years of waiting and searching the world, Meilan realized
that some of the bonds holding her to life were fading. She quickly remedied
this by breeding with a Wobbuffet, then passing her spirit into her egg as she
created it. She emerged from the egg some time later, then went into a period
of isolation at Mt. Pyre until she sensed something far distant. This event was
the releasing of the Shiny Unown from captivity in Johto. After waiting nearly
three years, Meilan snuck aboard the SS Tidal as it prepared to launch from
Slateport City to Dewford Town, and then Olivine City. On the trip back to
Slateport, Meilan came in contact with Jason Cassidy, and forged a temporary
alliance with him to locate and capture the remaining Shiny Unown.
Hobbies: Meilan has a fondness for games, and is actually quite good at chess.
Pet Peeves: Meilan only has one great pet peeve: she dislikes those who
dishonor the martial arts, beyond and including the Shaolin fighting style.
Abilities: Being a ghost, Meilan can phase through solid objects and, if
needed, possess things. Also, she can detect the unique wavelength put out by
Shiny Unown, and her ability to detect them grows more accurate the closer she
Attacks: Meilan knows Destiny Bond, Will-O-Wisp, Astonish, and Pursuit. Also,
so far as level is concerned, she is at the equivalent of Level 30.
Weaknesses: The entire reason that Meilan requires Jason's help is that she,
being a ghost, cannot take hold of solid objects. Thus, she requires the aid of
a solid mortal to find and capture the Shiny Unown. Jason seemed to be her best
bet at the time. Also, while she and Jason are Destiny Bonded to one another,
any pain that one feels shall be felt by the other.
Allies on Journey: Jason Cassidy, more or less.
Enemies on Journey: Those also taking part in the quest for Shiny Unown that
refuse to negotiate with her.
Goals: Meilan wants to live again. After that, she'll find something to occupy
